The weekend had a full itinerary that started off by checking into the Cascades Hotel. Saturday afternoon they offered a tour of the gambling floor at the Soho Hotel and then a friendly tournament of Baccarat ensued. Baccarat is a favourite amongst Chinese visitors from all around the world.
Other activities on the day included a picnic on the lawns behind The Palace Hotel Pools. The basket had an array of mouthwatering items and what a perfect spot to spend the afternoon, in great company with spectacular wines on offer.
Later the evening we witnessed the firework display. There are no words to describe how captivating and beautiful they were. The sky even felt empty after the display was over, but that didn’t mean the evening was over. Lion dancers and drummers kept the crowd entertained as they displayed this uniquely Chinese art form.
We moved away from the Money Spring Plaza at the Valley of the Waves to watch them at the end of the bridge. Then we went to supper. Most restaurants had a Chinese item on their menus, making sure everyone could have a taste of the festivities.
Part of the property was adorned with Chinese lanterns, though each year carries its own stamp and offering, further celebrations took place in the clubs, bars, conferencing venues and restaurants. This is definitely something to look forward to next year!
