Episode 1 of the Bachelorette finished on a cliff hanger…the red carpet was so bad I wished I was on that cliff. But all was not lost as we said hello to four men as Ten waved us goodbye.
With that said, a white limo pulled up and out popped four more men. I was crossing fingers that they had saved the best for last, but alas, no such luck.
Lets take a look at the four good men:
He definitely upped the ‘pretty’ factor in the house. The man is soft on the eye, and rather suave, if you into that sort of thing. He reminds me of one of the yachties on Below Deck Mediteranean. He is primarily an actor, but also writes and produces…which leaves us wondering, are you here for Q or for a career boost.
The Vibe rating – 6.5/10
Born in KZN he oozes the laid-back surfer dude feel. A remedial teacher by profession. But again the lack of height even had Q commenting on it. He is short, very short. What he isn’t short on is annoying the other men in the mansion. He has firmly climbed in under Lunga’s skin. Watching him in action at the cocktail party really makes me feel like he is a bit of a lurker.
The Vibe rating 4/10
A very close resemblance to Zavion Kotze, the hair that is. He seemed nice enough on the red carpet, but I can’t say he made a massive impression.
The Vibe rating – 5/10
Another bad jacket…is there a sale somewhere, asking for a friend. He is a PADI certified diver and a barman. At least if it doesn’t work out with Q, he can serve her drinks on her dates.
The Vibe rating – 6/10
Episode 2 recap
Once all arrived in the mansion, Q announced that there would be no rose ceremony as she wanted to get to know the men better.
The first impression rose went to….Jon Snow, aka Ruan Meyer. We still not sure why, but hey the girl gets to decide what she wants.
There was some heat brought on the group date, as the men divided into two teams for a game of touch rugby. Some eye candy was on display, and a sneaky try from Craig sent his team onto some one-on-one time with Q.
Peter went in for the kill telling her how he’s been crushing on her since 5th grade. Interestingly enough, Peter’s instagram also reveals that he is a serial dating show contestant. Again are you here for the girl or the 5 minutes of fame. Surely it’s less painful to be batted on Tinder than on national TV?
Lunga redeemed himself after explaining why he told her to keep quiet on the red carpet. It was out of context and 10/10 for the man for apologising.
And then it was time for the rose ceremony.
Ten waved us goodbye in the most awkward suit ever. Fashion disaster, to which even he admit. He called it a wardrobe malfunction, we call it, it never should’ve been in the wardrobe to start off with.
Episode 3 airs on Thursday evening at 7:30pm.
