The South African Ballet Theatre Trust’s 2020 Fundraising Event takes flight on Saturday 15 February at the Country Club, Woodmead, Sandton to raise funds to benefit the Joburg Ballet company.

The 208-hectare Woodmead club has a significant bush and grasslands area that is home to an impressive range of flora and fauna, providing a safe environment for walking and bird-spotting. The programme will start with a walk through the Club’s extensive park guided by a bird expert and followed by a performance of ballet highlights by Joburg Ballet. In keeping with the bird theme, items include extracts from Swan Lake, The Firebird, The Sleeping Beauty and The Dying Swan.

This will be followed by a light Hamburger and Hotdog Supper and an ice-cream treat. And best of all, you get to support Joburg Ballet. If you decide to pass on the bird-spotting walk, the perfect alternative is to enjoy a drink and the Club’s panoramic views with friends and fellow ballet supporters. If you wish to sit on the lawn alongside the swimming pool please bring your own folding chair. What better way to spend a high summer Saturday afternoon? All are welcome.
