As one of the the most anticipated movies of the year, The Lion King hit cinemas around the globe, and kids of all ages (from 3 to 93) were thrilled to be part of the experience, but some had the opportunity to see it as it as it opened internationally.

The Mall of Africa hosted a premier of this film at the Ster Kinekor cinemas in the central atrium, with guests arriving in outfits with African flair. This is the dawn of a host of re-releases by Disney, and what a perfect partnership, as the Mall of Africa hosting this iconic African movie.

Hospitality was not in short supply as guests mingled before the movie with a glass of MCC and canapés. Before the movie stared everyone headed into the incredible Ster-Kinekor Prestige cinema where popcorn, cool drink and sweet treats waited.

The Lion King is an incredible example of what technology and cinematography can accomplish, sharing classic tales with the new generation as well as bringing those of us who grew up with them, back into the cinema. Parking and access to the mall is a breeze, and leaving to get onto the highway, even more convenient.

Going to the movies is a lot better when at the Mall of Africa.
If you haven’t seen this movie, make sure that it is part of your weekend plans!
