Culinary Delights at Radisson Blu Waterfront

Imagine waking up from a great night out, or a long tiring week, then and hearing a knock at the door… On the other side is an incredible tray with delicious food, and undoubtedly the best way to start your day. One thing I appreciated about the Radisson Blu Waterfront was their friendly service, and staff who are willing to go above and beyond for guests, but moreover, they take breakfast-in-bed to a whole new level,

Picture this – It’s a Saturday morning and your in your robe, ready to do absolutely nothing, then you receive a bountiful breakfast of cereal, a plate with a variety of fresh fruit, hot coffee, juice, and every vegans dream – a full English breakfast (minus the eggs) with vegan sausages, hash browns, avocado, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and beans. After enjoying the feast, you sit on the balcony, admiring the ocean that is literally a stone’s throw from where you’re seated, and even though you cannot bring yourself to think of dinner, you know that you’re in for a treat.

If you go down to the restaurant for breakfast, you’ll see the variety of options available to you. From cold meats, oysters and champagne, pastries, fresh fruit, a range of cereals, an a-la-carte menu and so much more, it’d be nearly impossible to not start your day the right way. On Sundays guests are treated to something even more special – the Sunday Lunch is a cut above the rest. With a price of only R450 per person for no-guests, the it blows every other lunch offering out of the water. Offering various dishes, and multiple dessert options, the unbeatable value, quality and variety is definitely one to try.

For dinner, Tobago’s Restaurant, Bar & Terrace’s offers incredible views of the ocean with its indoor and outdoor seating options. It’s a stylish and relaxed dining experience where guests on the terrace are sometimes even treated to dolphins swimming by. Experience a metropolitan crowd, taking in the ambiance as you choose from a wide selection of dishes created in a sustainable manner by Chef Norman Heath and exquisite cocktails crafted by our expert mixologists.

The menu is carefully curated to suit dietary needs, highlighting ingredients including pork, shellfish, dairy, nuts and gluten for those who follow a diet with specific health related, lifestyle or religious restrictions. Key offerings on the menu include the seafood Risotto, options fro their Flame Grills section, local Malay Curry and Chef specialities including a BBQ Tofu Vegan Bowl, Sukkah Roasted Eggplant, and Lamb Shank.

Look out for their medleys – curated taste experiences that are expertly paired to offer a unique dining experience. They off Cape Mayas Spiced Butternut Soup paired with a double shot of Gelnmorangie Lasanta 12-Year-old Single Malt Whisky, a T-bon with a double shot of Gentlemen Jack Tennessee Whiskey and a Hazelnut & Brown Butter Tart with a double shot of Meukow VS for the those with a sweet tooth.

Dessert comes as a standard – with an offering to please some of the worlds most refined pallets, items like a Cheese board, Vegan Lattice Apple Pie, Banked Cheesecake, Cape Fig Pudding and Crème Brûlée Butter Tarts are to be expected when complimenting the high quality food served.

All in all, it’s a 15 out of 10! If you’re passing through the mother city, or looking to pop in as a local, you’ll definitely find something to suite your taste, as well as a few unique items to choose from. Enjoy!
