Being vegan isn’t difficult, but it is challenging when your creativity in the kitchen is challenged, or the convenience of fast-food isn’t always available. Now shopping lists can be updated as Infinite Foods has announced that Upton’s Naturals has become the latest addition to join its plant-based foods offering.
Upton’s Naturals , a plant-based meat alternative company, produces Seitan Bacon, Chorizo Crumbles and Traditional Chunks. The Upton’s Naturals products can be enjoyed on the menu at Infinite Café, Infinite Foods’ restaurant or on the eCommerce site at www.infinitefoods.com/shop for R89 per box or R529 for a case of 6. There is currently a launch sale on the Upton’s Natural products now through the end of January for 10% off.
“African consumers are becoming conscious of the impact their food choices have on their health and the environment, but the products have to taste and perform great for consumers to switch,” said Michelle Adelman, CEO of Infinite Foods.
Upton’s Natural plant-based foods have delicious taste and meaty texture (or extra crispy for bacon), they are non-GMO, kosher, high in protein, low in fat and with zero cholesterol, unlike animal-based meat. The main ingredient in these products is seitan (pronounced say-tan) which is made from wheat protein with an impressive texture and robust flavour. Seitan is an centuries old technique stemming from ancient Japanese culinary traditions and is all natural.
“We are very excited to be able to bring our Seitan range to the South African market. We are looking forward to growing the plant-based food movement throughout the Continent.” commented Daniel Staackmann, Founder of Upton’s Naturals.
Upton’s Natural will be joining the ranks of fellow plant-based brands like Beyond Meat, JUST Egg, Miyoko’s Creamery, Oatly and local handcrafted kombucha, Happy Culture within Infinite Foods brand portfolio.
