Since its inception in 2020, Priority Escapes has disrupted the travel industry through innovative offerings and with incredible deals. As a testament to its ingenuity within the sector, it has achieved its newest milestone, and internal record of over R28 Million in sales for the month of August.
The ability to pivot strategy rapidly is essential for survival in a new post-pandemic economy and climate. Embracing digital transformation, implementing new and aggressive marketing strategies, as well as being able to streamline and optimise its channels with the consumer in mind, Priority Escapes has been able secure its place amongst industry giants.
According to Francois Swart, Priority Escapes Managing Director, excellence and innovation are the key driving forces behind making R28,7 million in sales within the month of August. The tourism industry was one of the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, but this achievement not only reflects the company’s commitment to the industry, but also continued service-delivery and growth.
“The key contributor to our success is finding and keeping the best employees. We have a relatively new team, so as we get to streamlining processes and our ever-growing business we will just continue to grow from strength to strength. Let’s also not forget opportunity, being willing to take risks, and ensuring that the partnerships you form are robust from the start,” says Swart.
Milestones such as these are only achieved by leading the pack. Pioneering a direct route with Air Seychelles as opposed to lengthy layovers, as well as capitalising on great relationships with hotels are only two examples of how Priority Escapes aims to benefit the consumer by saving them time and money.
“There is still opportunity for those who dare to be inventive – most of our staff were unemployed and now we are smashing our targets. The tourism industry will always have space for excellence, top-tier customer service, and attention to detail,” adds Swart
The R28,7M in sales of predominantly Maldives packages not only makes Priority Escapes South Africa’s Maldives expert but has contributed to South Africa featuring on the Maldives Top 10 Travellers list. With the country now occupying the 6th position on the list, creates a knock-on effect which only encourage further disruption and innovation within the industry, while fuelling continued interest in the Maldives as a travel destination of choice.
Priority Escapes continues to look for new routes and create top-tier all-inclusive luxury packages as international destinations rally for South African market share.
