76% of South Africans Haven’t Had a Holiday in a Year

The majority of South Africans have not had a holiday in over a year while almost 100% feel they need a getaway this summer. These are the findings from a recent Corona Consumer Survey conducted ahead of the festive break. As a result, Corona is inviting South Africans to disconnect, unwind in nature, and escape the stresses of everyday life.

Conducted through a dynamic digital out-of-home (DOOH) activation across bustling urban centers in South Africa, the survey highlighted the overwhelming desire among South Africans to relax and unwind. 76% of the people who participated in the survey have not taken a holiday in over a year, with many looking forward to experiences that inspire relaxation and rejuvenation. However, barriers such as financial constraints, career demands, and family responsibilities often make it difficult to step away and recharge.

In addition, Corona has partnered with TripAdvisor to launch “Sunset Spots”, a curated guide featuring 80 handpicked bars and restaurants offering South Africa’s most breathtaking sunset views.

Renowned for its natural beauty and world-class sunset destinations, South Africa offers countless places to relax during the golden hour. Curated with expert guidance from TripAdvisor, one of the world’s most trusted travel platforms, each spot has been chosen for its unique ability to elevate the sunset experience—whether it’s a serene beachfront bar, a vibrant rooftop terrace, or a cozy city-center restaurant.
