Fly again SA, with Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific is thrilled to announce the resumption of three non-stop weekly flights between South Africa and Hong Kong. The airline will re-commence its operations from Tuesday, 2 August 2023. The service will provide South Africans and visitors with convenient and direct access to Hong Kong, and further connect them to destinations across the carrier’s Asian network that includes the Chinese Mainland, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.

Currently, customers travelling before August can avail special fares and choose to fly with our interline partners from Johannesburg to Hong Kong and onwards via Dubai to their preferred destinations.

Anand Yedery, Regional Head of Marketing and Sales, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, adds: “We are eager to not only welcome our customers from South Africa to experience our warm Asian culture, but also the comfort and efficiency when travelling onboard the Airbus A350-900. With the removal of travel restrictions into Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, and with our connections to popular Asian destinations, we can aid customers to fulfil all their travels plans – whether it is to reunite with their loved ones or take that much-awaited holiday or for business.”

Customers can enjoy a superior flight experience when travelling on Cathay Pacific’s A350-900. The aircraft is configured in a three cabin-class layout with 280 seats, comprising 38 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy and 214 Economy seats. Each state-of-the-art cabin class on the A350-900 provides a whole new experience for passengers, with its extra-wide cabins including new seats, an innovative inflight entertainment system and inflight connectivity. Each of the configurations boasts added comfort, convenience and entertainment features that promise to offer an enhanced experience to travellers.

The Business Class and Premium Economy Class seats are designed by Studio F.A. Porsche, known for its expertise in seat ergonomics, functionality and comfort. Moreover, the A350-900 Business Class seats are built on the success of Cathay Pacific’s award-winning long-haul Business Class product which comes equipped with a fully flatbed that creates a truly memorable travelling experience.

In line with Cathay Pacific’s efforts to reduce its impact on climate change, the airline continues to add younger, more fuel-efficient aircraft to its fleet. The A350 series of aircraft brings together the very latest in aerodynamics, innovative technology and design, which not only improves passenger comfort, but also the fuel-efficiency, effectiveness and operational performance of the aircraft.
