South Africa has officially written a new chapter in its sporting history.

For the first time ever, the country hosted a Premier Padel tournament, welcoming many of the world’s top players to SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria. The landmark Pretoria Premier P1 not only delivered elite international competition but also demonstrated the growing appetite among South African fans for world-class sporting events.

From thrilling rallies on court to vibrant fan experiences off it, the tournament proved that when international sport meets passionate local supporters, the result is something truly memorable.

A Landmark Moment for Padel in South Africa

The Pretoria Premier P1 gave South African fans the rare opportunity to witness some of the world’s leading padel stars compete on home soil.

Throughout the tournament, thousands of spectators filled SunBet Arena, creating an electric atmosphere as they watched the sport’s biggest names battle for one of padel’s most prestigious titles.

While every match delivered world-class action, the excitement extended well beyond the court.

Entertainment, interactive fan activations and social spaces kept the energy alive throughout the week, transforming the tournament into a complete sporting experience rather than simply a series of matches.

Heineken Silver Courtside Club Becomes a Fan Favourite

One of the standout attractions during the tournament was the Heineken Silver Courtside Club.

Designed as a dedicated space where spectators could relax, socialise and remain connected to the action between matches, the activation quickly became one of the venue’s busiest meeting points.

Whether fans were discussing spectacular rallies, catching up with friends or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Courtside Club reflected Heineken’s long-standing commitment to creating shared experiences through sport.

It became an integral part of the tournament’s overall fan experience, offering visitors another reason to stay engaged throughout the event.

Creating More Than Just Sporting Moments

According to Warrick Wyngaard, Marketing Communication Manager at Heineken, the brand’s involvement extended beyond supporting elite competition.

“Premier Padel gave South African fans the opportunity to experience one of the world’s fastest-growing sports at the highest level, and we were proud to help make that experience even more memorable,” he said.

Wyngaard added that Heineken believes memorable sporting occasions are created not only by what happens during competition but also by the opportunities fans have to connect with one another.

“For us, great sporting moments aren’t only about what happens on the court. They’re about bringing people together and creating opportunities for fans to connect through the sports they love. The energy and enthusiasm we saw throughout the tournament reinforced why these kinds of experiences matter.”

Padel’s Remarkable Rise Continues

The success of the Pretoria Premier P1 also highlighted just how rapidly padel has grown across South Africa.

Once considered a niche sport, padel has evolved into one of the country’s fastest-growing sporting communities, attracting players of all ages while creating a vibrant social culture that extends far beyond the court itself.

The arrival of a Premier Padel tournament on South African soil represents another significant milestone in that journey, exposing local fans to the very highest level of international competition.

Champions Crowned in Pretoria

After several days of world-class competition, the tournament concluded with two championship-winning partnerships lifting the trophies.

In the men’s competition, Alejandro Galán and Fede Chingotto emerged as champions.

In the women’s draw, Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea claimed the title after an impressive tournament.

Their victories brought a fitting conclusion to an event that showcased elite talent while giving South African supporters an unforgettable opportunity to watch some of the sport’s biggest stars compete up close.

A Tournament That Raised the Bar

Beyond the final scorelines, Pretoria Premier P1 demonstrated that South Africa is more than capable of hosting international padel at the highest level.

From packed stands and passionate supporters to memorable fan activations and world-class competition, the tournament celebrated not only the sport itself but also the power of shared experiences.

For Heineken, the event reinforced its commitment to bringing people together through sport.

For South African fans, it was a glimpse into the future of padel—and one they are unlikely to forget anytime soon.
