SecretEATS, the award-winning underground dining collective, is setting the stage for a brand-new kind of night out with the launch of Secret Cinema, a brand-new cinematic experience premiering in Johannesburg on Saturday 17 May 2025 in Johannesburg. Fusing film, flavour and a flair for secrecy, this one-night-only event will immerse guests in a world of intrigue from start to finish.
Your mission begins with a cocktail
Guests will be welcomed with classified cocktails and covert canapés, designed to evoke the tension, glamour and unpredictability of a spy thriller. As with all SecretEATS experiences, the location is kept tightly under wraps until the day. Ticket holders will be given final instructions, the address, the time to rendezvous and the pass phrase to enter the venue on the morning of the event.
On arrival, attendees will be led to a private pre-release screening of an action film so top-secret, its title can’t yet be named. What can be shared is this: it’s one of the most anticipated releases of the year, its franchise is well known around the world and those attending will see it ahead of general cinema release. Expect sharp dialogue, high-stakes action and the kind of twists that leave no one sitting still.
No spoilers, surprises only
Secret Cinema is built on the thrill of the unexpected, from the first sip to the final scene. Think of a mission to escape the everyday and step into a story. And, like any good secret, it won’t stay quiet for long. Tickets include the screening of the film in a cinema not open to the general public, a themed cocktail, canapé’s, soft drinks, popcorn and a few more fun surprises.
