“I’ve always loved working with wine,” Elizabeth says.
“Every vintage is different, and that’s what keeps it exciting. You’re always learning, always adapting, and with every season you leave a little part of yourself in the wine.”

Although vineyards often receive much of the attention, Elizabeth believes the cellar is where a wine truly develops its identity.
“People often say wine is made in the vineyard, and of course that’s where it starts,” she explains.
“But the cellar is where countless decisions shape the final wine. Every step matters, and every choice has an impact on what eventually ends up in the bottle.”

Despite nearly three decades in the industry, Elizabeth’s enthusiasm has never faded.
Harvest season continues to be her favourite time of the year.
“There’s an incredible energy during harvest,” she says.
“Watching the grapes arrive from the vineyards and seeing the cellar come alive never gets old. It’s demanding work, but it’s also the most rewarding time of the year because you know you’re creating something special.”
It is during harvest that months of preparation come together, with every decision contributing to the character of the wines that will eventually reach consumers around the world.
Finding Purpose Through Winemaking
For Elizabeth, her work has become far more than a profession.
Following the loss of her husband, the routine, purpose and community she found within the cellar became an important source of strength.
“There are days when life feels heavy,” she says.
“But coming to the cellar changes that. Working with the wine, the aromas, the barrels and the people around me gives me purpose. It reminds me why I love what I do.”
