South African music history is getting ready for another big celebration.
Oskido’s Big Day Out has announced a fresh wave of talent for its third edition, with some of Durban’s most recognisable dance music names joining the 2026 lineup.
DJ Tira, DJ Sox and Durban’s Finest, together with DJ Cndo, will bring their sounds to Huddle Park in Linksfield, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 28 November 2026.
But this year’s festival is about more than a day of music.
It is also set to celebrate the influence of Durban on South Africa’s dance music story.
Durban’s sound takes the spotlight
For decades, Durban has played an important role in shaping Mzansi’s dance music culture.
From the influential Kwaito era to the sounds moving audiences today, the city has produced music that has connected with and influenced generations.
Big Day Out 2026 will pay homage to that legacy by bringing together established pioneers, influential DJs and artists whose music continues to cross generational lines.

The festival will celebrate Oskido’s birthday, while also marking a major milestone in his career.
Earlier this year, Oskido was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga by the Presidency in recognition of his outstanding contribution to South African music and culture.
That milestone gives the 2026 edition an added layer of meaning.

Adding another significant dimension to the festival, FNB has been announced as an official partner of Oskido’s Big Day Out 2026.
