Every football jersey tells a story, but the new Orlando Pirates 2026/27 Home and Away kits tell one that stretches far beyond the touchline.

Today, adidas and Orlando Pirates Football Club officially unveiled the Club’s new jerseys through a powerful campaign film celebrating Johannesburg – the City of Gold. More than simply introducing a new strip for the upcoming season, the launch pays tribute to the city that has shaped generations of players, inspired millions of supporters and become inseparable from the identity of the Buccaneers.

As Orlando Pirates begins the countdown to its landmark 90th anniversary in 2027, the new jersey stands as a celebration of the Club’s remarkable legacy while looking confidently toward its next chapter.

A Jersey Inspired by the City That Built the Buccaneers

The inspiration behind the new design is woven into every detail.

At the heart of both the Home and Away jerseys sit two iconic Orlando Pirates crests, elevated with striking gold detailing that serves as a tribute to Johannesburg’s enduring identity as the City of Gold.

The golden accents represent far more than a visual design feature.

They celebrate the streets, people, culture and relentless determination that have defined both Johannesburg and Orlando Pirates across generations.

According to Sindi Khumalo-Sibisi, Marketing Manager at Orlando Pirates, the design reflects the shared DNA between the football club and the city it proudly represents.

The jersey honours Johannesburg’s heritage while recognising the resilience and passion that continue to define both the Club and its supporters.

Celebrating the Past While Looking to the Future

For adidas, the new kit reflects a partnership built on history and shared ambition.

Tom Brown, Senior Director, Brand, adidas South Africa, said every Orlando Pirates jersey tells its own story, and this season’s design celebrates a relationship that continues to grow stronger with each new chapter.

He explained that the jersey honours the Club’s rich history while embracing the excitement surrounding Orlando Pirates’ upcoming 90th anniversary in 2027.

Brown added that the golden thread running throughout the design symbolises far more than aesthetics. It represents Johannesburg, the Club’s enduring legacy and the generations of players and supporters united by the famous black and white colours.

Built for Performance on Every Stage

While the design celebrates heritage, the jersey has also been engineered with performance in mind.

The 2026/27 Orlando Pirates jersey features adidas’ CLIMACOOL technology, designed to help players remain cool, dry and comfortable during the most demanding moments of a match.

Lightweight, breathable materials efficiently manage moisture, allowing athletes to stay focused on their performance.

Supporters will also benefit from the same premium comfort, whether wearing the jersey in the stadium, around the city or in everyday life.

With every golden detail stitched into the fabric, adidas and Orlando Pirates have created a jersey that honours the past, celebrates the present and carries the spirit of the City of Gold into the future.
