Celebrating Women in Safety this International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in safety. Women have made significant contributions to the field of safety, and their impact can be seen in a variety of industries, from healthcare to construction.

Ensuring that safety is a priority is Co-Owner and Managing Director of Yvette Glass who has a business focus in manufacturing in safety and construction.

Yvette has spoken widely and passionately about the importance of creating a society that caters to people with disabilities, particularly when it comes to safety or in case of an emergency.

“Ensuring that persons living with a disability are safe is close to my heart as my husband and business partner Gavin Glass is partially paralysed and if he were to get stuck in a building that is fire, he wouldn’t be able to run through the stairs to evacuate from the building” says Yvette Glass

One way to celebrate women in safety is to recognize their accomplishments and contributions. This can be done by sharing success stories of women in safety, highlighting their achievements and acknowledging their leadership and expertise.

Another way to celebrate women in safety is to provide opportunities for them to advance their careers. This can be done by offering mentoring and networking programs, promoting women to leadership positions, and providing training and development opportunities that support their professional growth.

It is also important to address the barriers that women in safety may face, such as discrimination, bias, and unequal opportunities. Creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace culture can help to break down these barriers and ensure that women in safety have equal access to opportunities and resources.
