Spending quality time together is certainly the most precious of gifts anyone can give a dad. In close second are of course those carefully selected spoils – so we’ve collated a guide that offers both an experience and a selection of fine gifts to celebrate Father’s Day.

From a culinary journey through the vibrant flavours of Cape Town’s finest ramen shop to a fragrance that invokes the joys of travelling, we’ve handpicked gifts that are sure to make your dad feel the love.

RAMEN FOR THE PEOPLE, RAMEN FOR THE POPS
RAMENHEAD, BY PETER TEMPELHOFF AND TEAM

For your foodie father: take a trip to a Cape Town favourite hotspot with a cult-like following, set in the city’s charming Church Square.

Explore the vibrant flavours of Cape Town’s finest ramen shop; it’s an indulgent gift for any gourmand. Ramenhead’s menu boasts several ramen offerings, including classic pork, pork-free chicken and vegetarian broths, as well as seasonal variations and frequent specials.  Local additions, include springbok and karoo lamb plus Japanese snacks like fried chicken karaage and gyoza dumplings. The curated selection of wines, beers and cocktails will make you linger longer.

Slurp and sip your way through the day, and spoil your dad with a glass of sake, served the Japanese way. The glass is placed inside a traditional square, wooden masu cup and filled until it overflows in a gesture of generosity… Kanpai!

The street-food-inspired eatery is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. No bookings, no cash.
Address: 37 Parliament St, Cape Town City Centre, Cape Town, 8000

FOR LOVERS OF RARE ESSENCES
LOUIS VUITTON, OMBRE NOMADE FRAGRANCE

Increasingly, the world is populated by those in search not just of fine fragrances – but of exceptional ones. In the Middle East, the culture of high perfumery is passed down from generation to generation. As a means of seduction or a gesture with which to honour guests’ presence, perfume is the object of just as much attention as jewellery. It is considered a spiritual complement – an olfactory manifestation of the soul. Fascinated by such passion and rituals, Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud wished to pay homage to those who, like him, are infatuated with exquisite raw materials. They may already call those lands home, or they may simply recognise themselves in an irrational love of exceptional perfume. Thus was born Ombre Nomade.

The colour of night — neither opaque nor coal black — is pierced by the sandy gold reflections of the dunes. This time, the perfume’s name has been hot-stamped in subtly patinated gold-finished metal, just above the Louis Vuitton signature in transparent engraving.

Ombre Nomade is available in refillable, customisable bottles of 100ml and 200ml. The perfume can also be housed in a sleek leather case crafted in Louis Vuitton’s workshops, marked with a choice of initials. Lastly, there is also a 7.5ml travel spray that comes with magnetic refills. An ideal way to keep the fragrance close, wherever the journey may lead.

CHAMPAGNE: A CELEBRATORY STAPLE
MOËT & CHANDON IMPÉRIAL

Moët & Chandon is the champagne of generous celebrations and togetherness.

This Father’s Day, choose a present from the heart; make their day golden with Moët & Chandon Impérial, with its delicate bubbles, harmonious blend of flavours, and its crisp, refreshing palate.

Let’s toast to dad today and always with a bottle of Moët & Chandon.

GIVE A GIFT THAT GIVES BACK
LOUIS VUITTON x UNICEF

For the dad whose generosity knows no bounds, give a gift that gives back.

Louis Vuitton recently launched the Silver Lockit Beads bracelet within the LOUIS VUITTON for UNICEF partnership. The new bracelet is the latest launch in the Silver Lockit collection, continuing to support children in need through the Maison’s partnership with UNICEF.

Reimagined as a semi-beaded bracelet for 2023, the new Silver Lockit design is worn individually or stacked. As with the previous designs, the new bracelet features the iconic miniature padlock, now set between six silver beads with three cord colour options: red, black and blue, and a fourth black cord version in titanium.

Since 2016, Louis Vuitton has raised over $20 million USD for UNICEF, with new versions of the Silver Lockit launched annually to support in the ongoing raising of funds. For every Silver Lockit Beads bracelet sold, $150 is donated to UNICEF.
