Bubz

This Easter, something irresistibly adorable is buzzing into the spotlight at the Wild Coast Sun — and his name is Bubz.

Meet Bubz The Buzz, the resort’s larger-than-life new mascot, bursting with sunshiny yellow energy and a smile wide enough to rival the Indian Ocean horizon. Cute, loveable, and made for magical moments, Bubz isn’t just a seasonal character — he’s officially chosen the Wild Coast Sun as his forever home.

Born to Shine

Born at Sun International Head Office, Bubz was given a special choice: decide where he wanted to live. After exploring far and wide, he discovered the warmth, laughter and vibrant spirit of the Wild Coast — and knew instantly it was where he belonged.

“This is where I shine,” Bubz says — and shine he will.

With expressive eyes, soft huggable fluff and a personality built for joy, Bubz’s mission is simple: spread happiness and create unforgettable memories for guests of all ages.

Easter Traditions — With an Extra Buzz

For those wondering whether the Easter Bunny has been replaced — don’t worry. Easter remains Easter. There will still be egg hunts, hot cross buns (or should we say… hot cross bubz), and the long weekend magic families treasure year after year.

The beach will once again come alive from Easter Friday throughout the long weekend, packed with classic seaside fun:

  • Limbo challenges

  • Beach soccer

  • Beach volleyball

  • Hula hoop showdowns

  • Tug of war

It’s friendly competition, fresh ocean air, and family laughter rolled into one festive coastal celebration.

Bubz Everywhere, For Everyone

Bubz isn’t just posing for photos. He’ll be everywhere:

  • Welcoming families and holidaymakers

  • Joining children’s activities

  • Making surprise appearances at events and concerts

  • Spreading cheer on the casino floor

  • Engaging with MVGs, day visitors, staff and social media followers

Every wave, every dance, every hug is part of his happiness mission.

Beyond Easter: A Resort That Never Slows Down

While Easter is a highlight, the Wild Coast Sun is a year-round playground.

Water lovers can:

  • Take a guided river cruise aboard a double-decker boat

  • Make a splash at the Wild Waves Water Park

  • Try stand-up paddle boarding

  • Enjoy sit-down paddle boating

  • Go canoeing or kayaking

  • Explore the unspoilt coastline via eco speedboat adventure

The river forms the border between KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape, offering a spectacular natural setting for exploration.

Prefer dry land? Cast a line and try your luck at reeling in bronze bream or rock cod. Rods are available to rent — or bring your own.

When it’s time to refuel, unwind with a cocktail at the Riverside Aqua Sports Beach Bar and tuck into burgers, boerewors rolls, hot dogs, or bacon and eggs rolls.

Thrills, Chills and Everything In Between

At Wild Waves Water Park, there’s something for every energy level:

  • High-adrenaline slides

  • Moderate thrill rides

  • The Lazy River for relaxed floating

  • Lounging areas for book lovers

  • Even massage options

Day tickets are available for non-hotel guests.

Not into water activities? The Aloha Village offers ten-pin bowling and arcade games. Golfers can tee off at the picturesque championship course. Those feeling lucky can step indoors and meet Lady Luck at the gaming tables.

Active Escapes & Adventure Trails

The resort’s new padel courts are ready for friendly competition, whether you’re seasoned or trying the sport for the first time. The upgraded gym, conveniently relocated near the courts, makes staying active effortless — because earning that Easter treat never felt so good.

Craving more adrenaline? Choose from three quad biking tours through 750 hectares of lush indigenous bush. Beginners and experienced riders alike are guided by knowledgeable tour leaders before heading out into the scenic terrain.

Flavours to Match the View

After a day packed with activity, guests can explore a variety of restaurants and bars. From quick bites to sit-down meals overlooking the Indian Ocean, every taste and occasion is catered for.

This Easter, the Wild Coast Sun isn’t just celebrating a long weekend — it’s introducing a personality. A symbol of joy. A new tradition in the making.

Bubz The Buzz has arrived. And Easter just got even more fun.
