Pretoria, get ready to look up — and hold on tight!
The G-Force Festival: The Wonderboom Airshow is set to bring a full day of aviation spectacle, motorsport action and family entertainment to Wonderboom Airport on Saturday, 31 October 2026.
From aerobatic aircraft cutting through the sky to high-performance race cars charging down the runway, the festival promises an action-packed experience for aviation enthusiasts, motorsport fans and families looking for something different to do.
And the action will not be limited to the runway.
When aircraft meet high-performance cars
One of the festival’s headline attractions will see planes go head-to-head with high-performance race cars, bringing aviation and motorsport together in a dramatic display of speed.
Above the airport, aerobatic pilots will tackle a low-level pylon course, racing around markers at high speed with only metres to spare.
A display helicopter will add another dimension to the aerial programme with flips and rolls, while Jungle X motocross riders bring the action back to ground level with freestyle tricks and jumps off ramps.
With aircraft, race cars and motocross all featuring on the programme, visitors can expect a day packed with movement, noise and adrenaline.
South African aviation takes centre stage
The festival will also showcase South African aerobatic talent, with some of the country’s top pilots taking to the skies for aerial displays.
The aircraft line-up spans different eras of aviation, from high-performance aerobatic machines to preserved vintage aircraft and legendary World War II warbirds.
Tight formations and daring manoeuvres will put the spotlight on the skill of the pilots and the capabilities of their aircraft.
For aviation fans, it is an opportunity to see modern aerobatic performance alongside aircraft that represent important chapters in aviation history — all in one setting.
More than an airshow
While the flying displays are a major draw, G-Force Festival is designed as a broader festival experience.
Children can enjoy jumping castles and family-friendly entertainment, while adults can relax at the beer tent and take in the day’s aerial and motorsport action.
The mix of attractions aims to give visitors different ways to enjoy the event, whether they are passionate about aircraft, love powerful engines or simply want a memorable family outing.
With entertainment on the ground and in the air, there is plenty to look forward to beyond the flying programme.
