Johannesburg, 8 September 2025 — The countdown is officially on! On Saturday, 8 November 2025, 1 Fox Street in Johannesburg will transform into the ultimate cultural hotspot as the first-ever I Am Dark & Lovely Festival takes over the city.

This isn’t just a festival — it’s a movement of music, culture, fashion, and unapologetic self-expression. Powered by the iconic Dark & Lovely brand, the event will give South Africans a stage to shine, groove, and showcase their crowns with pride.

🌍 Why the Festival Matters

For decades, Dark & Lovely has been more than just a beauty brand — it has been a generational staple in African homes, pioneering products that celebrate the diversity of African hair and beauty since 1972. Now, the brand steps into a new era: celebrating confidence, style, and culture through music and live experiences.

The festival aims to be a bold statement of empowerment: a place where black South Africans can embrace their unique beauty, showcase creativity, and turn style into a cultural celebration.

🎶 A Star-Studded Line-Up Like Never Before

The I Am Dark & Lovely stage is set to be one of Joburg’s hottest line-ups of the year:

  • Uncle Waffles – bringing her signature amapiano beats that have taken the world by storm

  • Nasty C – Africa’s biggest hip-hop export, dropping bars that keep fans screaming for more

  • Young Stunna – amapiano’s golden voice, delivering soulful energy

  • Cassper Nyovest – the powerhouse performer with unmatched stage energy

  • Major League DJz – amapiano royalty, guaranteed to raise the roof

  • Kabza De Small – the “King of Amapiano” keeping the vibes legendary

  • DJ Zinhle – the queen of house grooves and timeless anthems

  • Mörda & DJ Lag – bringing explosive house and gqom heat to the dancefloor

  • Kamo Mphela & Zee Nxumalo – setting the stage alight with dance, energy, and vocal fire

  • Lelowhatsgood – the cultural curator spinning the freshest sounds of the city

This isn’t just stacked — it’s iconic. A true soundtrack of Mzansi’s creative heartbeat.
