When a performer truly connects with an audience, you don’t just get applause — you get a return season.

And this April, Jonathan Roxmouth is back where he belongs: at the piano, under the lights, commanding the stage at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre with the return of his highly acclaimed show, KEY CHANGE – My Favourite Pianists.

This is not simply a concert. It is a musical memoir told through the instrument that shaped his life.

A Personal Soundtrack, Played Live

In KEY CHANGE, Jonathan Roxmouth pays tribute to the piano-based comedians, singers and entertainers who influenced his musical tastes through different phases of his life. It is both homage and revelation — a journey through the artists who defined eras and reshaped popular music from behind a keyboard.

Backed by a dynamic five-piece live band, Roxmouth moves seamlessly between rock, pop and classical-inspired showmanship.

Expect the electrifying piano-rock energy of Jerry Lee Lewis, the flamboyant brilliance of Elton John and the storytelling mastery of Billy Joel.

Then, a shift in tone — from rock ‘n roll fire to virtuoso glamour and romantic elegance — celebrating pianists such as Liberace, Richard Clayderman and David Foster.

The journey continues through iconic singer-songwriters including Carole King, Burt Bacharach and the theatrical genius of Freddie Mercury.

Each segment is infused with Roxmouth’s signature blend of tongue-in-cheek humour, virtuosic pianistic flair and carefully timed surprises that keep audiences leaning forward in their seats.

A Band That Elevates Every Note

KEY CHANGE is powered by a phenomenal five-piece live band featuring:

  • Kieran Woolmington

  • Michael Wilson-Trollip

  • Cole Matthews

  • Wian Joubert

  • Lindzi Moore

Together, they create a rich, layered sound that elevates the performance beyond tribute and into full-scale musical celebration.

More Than Nostalgia

What makes KEY CHANGE resonate is not only the catalogue of legendary names. It is the personal lens through which Roxmouth presents them. This is a performer reflecting on influence, growth and transformation — musical “key changes” that mirror life’s own shifts and evolutions.

For longtime fans, it’s a chance to experience Roxmouth at his most playful and powerful. For new audiences, it’s an invitation into a world where piano-driven music reigns supreme and showmanship is an art form in itself.

But make no mistake — this is a limited run.

From 15 April to 10 May only, Montecasino Theatre becomes a celebration of the piano’s enduring power in popular culture. When the curtain falls, it will be the final note of this return season.
