On 21 November 2025, two beloved universes meet: Magic: The Gathering releases a dedicated crossover set inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender — a collector-focused, gameplay-rich drop that promises to be one of the year’s most talked-about Trading Card Game (TCG) events.

The new Magic: The Gathering — Avatar: The Last Airbender series blends Magic’s deep strategic systems with the elemental lore and vivid characters of Aang’s world. The set brings cinematic lands, powerful new creatures, collectible foils and fresh mechanics that aim to thrill both competitive players and collectors alike.

What to expect from the set

  • New creatures and characters drawn from the Avatar universe, implemented as Magic cards with abilities that reflect elemental bending and Avatar-themed storytelling.

  • Cinematic lands that capture the look and feel of the Avatar setting, adding visual spectacle to gameplay.

  • Limited print runs and rare card variants, making the release especially desirable for collectors.

  • Surprising mechanics designed to echo the elemental interplay central to the Avatar narrative — expect design choices that reward strategic thinking in ways that feel faithful to both brands.

“The crossover taps directly into why Magic remains a leader in the TCG category,” says Philip Galliford, spokesperson for Solarpop. “Players and collectors will be drawn to the gameplay, the art, the characters and the story behind the cards in the new Avatar release.”

Who should be excited

  • Competitive Magic players looking for new mechanics and deck-building possibilities.

  • Collectors hunting limited prints and show-stopping foil variants.

  • Avatar fans curious to see the world’s characters and elemental themes translated into Magic’s card-based systems.

  • Retailers and hobby stores: early stock will matter — limited print runs mean sell-through is expected to be rapid.

Availability and buying tips

The set will be available at select retailers nationwide. Because print runs are limited and rare cards are especially scarce, buyers are advised to move quickly on launch day to secure boosters, bundles, and special sets.

Final note

By merging Magic’s cardcraft with Avatar’s elemental storytelling, this release aims to deliver both meaningful gameplay and collectible appeal. For players and collectors alike, 21 November looks set to be a major date on the 2025 TCG calendar.
