Mastercard has announced a new collaboration with Live Nation’s Big Concerts, South Africa’s leading live entertainment promoter, to bring cardholders closer to the music and moments they love. Through this initiative, Mastercard cardholders will gain access to some of the country’s most anticipated concerts and live events.

Select Mastercard cardholders can look forward to benefits including presale ticket access, premium seating, and VIP experiences for select concerts organized by Big Concerts. For more than three decades, Big Concerts has set the standard for world-class live entertainment in South Africa, hosting global icons such as U2, Coldplay, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Green Day, Imagine Dragons, and Travis Scott.

The first concert under the new collaboration will be UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, who will bring their legendary reggae sound to South Africa in June 2026, with performances scheduled in Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria.

Mastercard research shows that 75% of consumers feel their best when pursuing their passions, from culinary discovery to live entertainment, and are increasingly choosing experiences that create lasting memories.

Gabriel Swanepoel, country manager, Southern Africa, Mastercard, said: “At Mastercard, we are driven by the power of connection. This collaboration with Live Nation’s Big Concerts allows us to create experiences that go beyond transactions, bringing people together through music, culture, and shared emotion. These are the moments that define what Priceless truly means.”

Justin Van Wyk, CEO, Big Concerts, said: “Our mission has always been to deliver unforgettable live experiences that bring fans closer to the artists they love. Collaborating with Mastercard as our new ticket access and pre-sale partner strengthens that commitment, helping us bring world-class live entertainment and experiences to music fans in South Africa.”

The collaboration complements the recent launch of The Mastercard Collection, an enhanced global suite of dining, entertainment, and travel benefits designed for holders of the World, World Elite, and the newly introduced World Legend Mastercard tiers.

Through The Mastercard Collection, cardholders enjoy priority reservations at leading restaurants, menus, airport lounge access, and curated cultural and lifestyle experiences across more than forty-five (45) destinations worldwide. The offering is tailored to enrich everyday life, whether at home or abroad, by turning everyday payments into extraordinary possibilities.

Preferred ticket access to some of the best seats available to all Mastercard cardholders from Friday, 7 November at 09:00.
