Chef Xiao WANG

MSC Cruises is redefining dining at sea with the unveiling of an all-new Pan-Asian street food-inspired venue set to debut aboard MSC World Asia, offering guests a vibrant culinary journey that blends authentic flavours, live cooking and flexible dining into one immersive destination.

Launching when MSC World Asia begins sailing seven-night Mediterranean itineraries from 4 December 2026, the innovative concept is the first of its kind across the MSC Cruises fleet and forms part of the ship’s extensive collection of 40 bars, lounges, cafés and restaurants.

Designed to capture the energy and atmosphere of Southeast Asia’s bustling street markets, the new venue promises far more than a meal—it invites guests to experience the sights, sounds and flavours of one of the world’s most celebrated food cultures.

Three Experiences, One Destination

Unlike a traditional specialty restaurant, MSC Cruises’ newest concept combines three distinct experiences within one venue, giving guests the freedom to dine however they choose throughout the day.

Visitors can enjoy:

  • A relaxed specialty restaurant serving curated Pan-Asian dishes.
  • A stylish bar and lounge offering Southeast Asian-inspired cocktails and beverages.
  • A complimentary on-the-go food window featuring quick street food-style bites.

Whether guests are looking for a leisurely lunch, handcrafted cocktails with friends or a convenient snack between onboard activities, the venue has been designed to provide flexibility without compromising on quality or atmosphere.

Inspired by Southeast Asia’s Iconic Street Food Culture

The concept draws inspiration from the vibrant street markets found across Indonesia, Singapore, South China, Thailand and Vietnam.

Rather than focusing solely on food, the experience combines live cooking, immersive décor, bold artwork and a carefully curated soundtrack to recreate the lively atmosphere of Southeast Asia’s bustling culinary destinations.

Guests can expect dishes such as:

  • Singapore-style prawns
  • Shiitake mushroom fried rice
  • Wok-fired specialities

Each dish has been created to reflect the bold flavours and communal dining traditions that define the region’s rich culinary heritage.

A Culinary Journey Designed to Engage Every Sense

According to Stéphane Franchini, Senior Director of Food & Beverage Product at MSC Cruises, every aspect of the venue has been carefully developed to deliver an unforgettable experience.

“With this new three-in-one venue, we are inviting guests to explore one of the world’s most exciting food cultures in a way that is vibrant, welcoming and full of flavour. From the diverse range of dishes to the atmosphere of the space and the expertise of Chefs Xiao Wang and Luca Césarini, every detail has been carefully designed to create a truly immersive culinary journey. It reflects our ambition to offer greater choice, seamless convenience and more memorable moments through food.”

A Relaxed Restaurant with Authentic Flavours

The specialty restaurant offers both comfortable indoor seating and a casual rooftop terrace.

Guests can build their own meal by selecting:

  • One appetiser
  • One main course
  • One dessert

The menu encourages diners to explore authentic Pan-Asian flavours while embracing the region’s communal style of eating.

To complement the food, guests can enjoy a curated drinks menu featuring bottled Asian beers, including:

  • Tsingtao
  • Chang
  • Bintang

The restaurant also serves freshly prepared smoothies, vibrant fruit juices and indulgent bubble teas.

Cocktails Inspired by Southeast Asia

Located within the same venue, the bar and lounge introduces a collection of Southeast Asian-inspired signature cocktails.

Among the beverages available are:

  • Jasmine Mojitos
  • Rose and Strawberry Daiquiris
  • Matcha Coladas

These drinks have been created to complement the restaurant’s menu while enhancing the overall dining experience.

Guests with the Premium Drinks Package can enjoy the beverages included within their package, while individual purchases are also available.

Street Food on the Move

For guests looking for something quick and convenient, the venue’s complimentary on-the-go window offers flavour-packed snacks inspired by Southeast Asian street food.

Available throughout the day, the rotating selection includes:

  • Crispy seafood balls
  • Fluffy bao buns

Additional items will also be introduced as part of the experience.

More Dining Choices Than Ever Before

The Pan-Asian venue is just one part of MSC World Asia’s expansive culinary offering.

The new flagship will feature:

  • 19 dining venues
  • 6 specialty restaurants
  • 6 main dining concepts
  • An exclusive MSC Yacht Club restaurant
  • Fast-casual and on-the-go dining options

The diverse selection aims to provide guests with greater choice while maintaining convenience throughout their voyage.

A Line-Up of Familiar Favourites

Alongside the new Pan-Asian concept, guests will also find several popular dining experiences already established across the MSC Cruises fleet.

These include:

Butcher’s Cut

An American-style steakhouse specialising in premium cuts of expertly prepared meat.

Kaito Sushi Bar

Serving handcrafted sushi and authentic Asian cuisine in a Far East-inspired setting.

Kaito Teppanyaki

A live cooking restaurant where chefs prepare Japanese dishes at interactive teppanyaki stations.

Hola! Tacos & Cantina

A relaxed dining concept offering Latin American and Mexican-inspired dishes and drinks designed for sharing.

MSC Cruises has also confirmed that an elegant Mediterranean specialty restaurant will join the ship’s culinary line-up, with further details to be announced at a later stage.

Expert Chefs Behind the Experience

The new Pan-Asian concept has been developed by two chefs whose international experience brings authenticity and creativity to the menu.

Chef Xiao Wang, originally from Shanghai, has built his career across leading hospitality groups and restaurants worldwide while also helping develop Asian culinary concepts for MSC Cruises.

He is joined by Chef Luca Césarini, whose experience in world-class kitchens—including in Shanghai and Thailand—adds a contemporary global perspective to the dining experience.

A New Culinary Chapter at Sea

With its combination of authentic flavours, live cooking, immersive design and flexible dining, MSC World Asia’s newest venue represents a fresh approach to onboard hospitality.

As the ship prepares to welcome guests from 4 December 2026, the Pan-Asian street food concept is set to become one of its standout attractions—bringing the vibrant spirit of Southeast Asia to the heart of the Mediterranean, one unforgettable bite at a time.
