From humble beginnings, in the Moutse Valley, in rural Mpumalanga to performances at the 94th Academy Awards (Oscars) and across the globe, South Africa’s ever popular and most loved choir, Ndlovu Youth Choir were recently invited to perform at the America’s Got Talent All-Stars competition in Los Angeles earlier this month. The Choir’s exemplary performance will be broadcast on NBC from 20:00 Eastern time in the USA on Monday, 23 January 2023.  Local fans can catch the Ndlovu Youth Choir performance on available tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 January 2023 after the NBC broadcast.  Tune in to YouTube, Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday morning after the broadcast.  Website: https://www.youtube.com/@AGT

“With more than 70 local versions of “Got Talent” produced across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, “AGT: All-Stars” brings together sixty of the most beloved and memorable contestants from across the globe for one of the toughest competitions. The best of the best returned to the stage to showcase their talent.” said America’s Got Talent judge, Simon Cowell.

The choir was offered the opportunity to choose a song from their repertoire.  “Ideally, a song that best shows off their singing and dancing talents but also resonates with sharing a positive message with the world,” says Ralf Schmitt, Ndlovu Youth Choir’s, Artistic Director.  We Will Rise was undoubtedly their immediate song of choice. Written by Ralf Schmitt and the choristers, We Will Rise is an original song written to inspire South Africans while celebrating our South African spirit of resilience.

“We were selected as one of the top 60 acts of all time on America’s Got Talent. This is a major accomplishment that we are incredibly proud to add to the Choir’s list of recent achievements including reaching the number one on iTunes, releasing our third album entitled Grateful and the recording of Harmonious at Disney’s Epcot Centre in Florida, USA,” adds Ralf Schmitt.

The Ndlovu Youth Choir has played sold-out performances across Europe and appeared on many local and international television and radio shows.  They have collaborated with many artists such as Master KG, Sun-El Musician, P!nk and Kygo.and performed for the likes of Trevor Noah and Bill Gates. In the last quarter of last year the Ndlovu Youth Choir performed in their first national tour which was a sold out success.

Since its inception in 2009, the Ndlovu Youth Choir has become one of South Africa’s most treasured choral groups also recognised globally for their unique musical arrangements, vocal talents and infectious energy.

Don’t miss this chance to watch the Ndlovu Youth Choir performing on America’s Got Talent All-Stars. Make a date this Tuesday to support local talent. Keep up to date on social media and You Tube
