Sony is giving its flagship noise-cancelling headphones a refined new look with the introduction of the WH-1000XM6 in Olive Gray, a sophisticated finish that blends understated style with premium audio performance.

Announced by Sony Middle East and Africa on 4 August 2026, the new colour expands the award-winning WH-1000XM6 lineup, joining the recently introduced Sand Pink and Sandstone finishes. Inspired by modern natural design, Olive Gray reflects Sony’s continued focus on creating products that combine timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge technology.

A premium look inspired by nature

Consumer preferences are increasingly shifting toward products that remain stylish beyond seasonal trends, and Sony believes premium technology should be built to last both visually and functionally.

The new Olive Gray finish introduces an earthy, sophisticated tone designed to complement a wide range of personal styles, whether in professional settings, at home or while travelling.

Rather than making a bold statement, the new colour embraces subtle luxury, allowing the headphones’ design and performance to speak for themselves.

Designed for versatility

According to Mahesh Kodoth, General Manager of Personal Entertainment at Sony Middle East and Africa, the new finish reflects the diverse preferences of consumers across the region.

“The Middle East and African markets represent one of the most diverse and dynamic regions globally, with consumer preferences that reflect this rich variety. We continue to see growing demand for versatility with products designed to perform seamlessly across a broad range of use cases and scenarios.”

He added that following the successful introduction of the Smoky Pink finish several years ago, Sony believes Olive Gray represents another meaningful addition to its growing collection of premium colours.

“Olive Gray conveys sophistication in professional settings while remaining effortless for everyday, on-the-go use.”

Award-winning performance remains unchanged

While the exterior receives a stylish refresh, the technology inside the WH-1000XM6 remains the same.

The headphones continue to deliver Sony’s best noise-cancelling performance, alongside premium sound quality and all-day comfort, making them ideal for commuting, travelling, working or relaxing.

The new finish allows consumers to enjoy the flagship listening experience while choosing a colour that reflects a more understated design philosophy.

Expanding Sony’s premium collection

With the addition of Olive Gray, Sony continues building a collection of nature-inspired finishes that balance elegance with functionality.

The new colour joins Sand Pink and Sandstone, giving customers more options without compromising on the premium features that have made the WH-1000XM6 one of Sony’s flagship audio products.

As consumers increasingly seek technology that blends seamlessly into both their lifestyle and personal style, the latest addition reinforces Sony’s commitment to combining innovation with thoughtful design.

For South African consumers looking for premium wireless headphones that pair industry-leading noise cancellation with refined aesthetics, the WH-1000XM6 Olive Gray offers another stylish choice within Sony’s acclaimed lineup.
