South Africa’s Disney100 celebrations will kick off this April in Johannesburg as families are invited to share in brand new concert experience, Disney 100: The Concert. Confirmed to take place at Gallagher Convention Centre from Friday, 7 April to Sunday, 9 April, Disney 100: The Concert will feature big screen highlights from the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel whilst the magical musical moments are brought to life by The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra featuring vocal performances, live in concert. The phenomenal multimedia experience promises to entertain and enthral fans of every age this Easter weekend, featuring the greatest songs and soundtracks from iconic films such as The Lion King, Moana, Encanto and Beauty and the Beast, as well as highlights from the worlds of Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. As part of the celebrations in the company’s 100th anniversary year, this upcoming special edition of the popular global concert series is presented by FNB, together with Oppo and Vodacom, and produced by Don’t Look Down. Tickets for Disney 100: The Concert, to be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre, will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday 15 February from www.ticketmaster.co.za. For more information: Shing Marketing c/o Ian Bredenkamp ian@shing.marketing

Other Disney100 experiences across EMEA include:

  • Disney100: The Concert – a multimedia concert experience that features seminal music moments from Disney’s history including songs from Beauty & the Beast, Mary Poppins and Encanto and highlights from the worlds of Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel. UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Norway, Sweden and France dates are already live and concerts will also take place in South Africa, Poland and the Czech Republic throughout 2023.
  • Disney100: The Exhibition – Disney is inviting guests into a ten-gallery exhibit that will bring Disney stories to life through innovative and immersive technology. The European premiere is in Munich from April 18 and sees the Walt Disney Archives opening its vault of treasures to showcase more than 250 of its “Crown Jewels” – including rarely seen original artwork and artefacts, costumes and props, theme park attraction vehicles and more. Munich follows the world premiere at the The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on Feb 18. The exhibit also travels to London’s ExCeL in the autumn.
  • Wonder of Friendship: The Experience – taking place between May-October across the UK, France and Germany (with more markets to be announced), this stunning pop-up experience marks 100 years of dynamic duos, unlikely pals and inseparable friends. Guests will have the chance to venture through 1,000 square metres of different experiences across four rooms, including Alice in Wonderland, Lilo & Stitch, The Lion King and Mickey and Friends.
  • Building on Disneyland Paris’s 30th Anniversary celebrations, Disney’s 100th anniversary will also come to life at the resort. To mark the 100-year anniversary on 16 October 2023, guests will be treated to a one-of-a-kind entertainment program, character performances and exclusive Disney activities throughout the day. After 16 October, additional, never-seen-before exclusive activities will also take place at Disneyland Paris as part of the Disney100 celebrations.
