The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the wedding industry worldwide, including South Africa. Restrictions on gatherings, social distancing measures, and health protocols have led to many couples rescheduling or downsizing their weddings. The industry has had to adapt to these changes by offering virtual ceremonies, smaller intimate weddings, and enhanced safety measures.

So much has changed and we have all had to adapt the way we live. We’ve become more aware of considerations such as budget, health  & safety, and what’s important to us. It’s no surprise then, that personalized and unique weddings are more popular than ever before. Couples are seeking new ways to make their weddings stand out and reflect their personalities; ideas such as eco-friendly weddings, and themed weddings have gained popularity.

South Africa has a vibrant and diverse wedding industry and boasts a talented pool of wedding service providers, in fact, one might argue we have some of the best in the world. From photographers and videographers who capture the beautiful moments of the celebrations to a plethora of bridal wear designers, wedding planners, venues, caterers, florists, and many more. Wedding venues alone offer a wide range of options, from luxurious hotels and resorts to picturesque outdoor locations such as vineyards, beaches, and game reserves.

For this reason, often wedding planning can be daunting for the bridal couple.

Come and be inspired by the latest trends, experts in all aspects of the planning, from the legal to the logistics. See the most incredible wedding party attire, taste the most delicious cakes, pop some bubbly, meet the venues and have a blast with your wedding party at this year’s  The Wedding Show – SA’s premier wedding planning event.
