— Virgin Active Padel Club, is thrilled to announce the expansion of its Padel offerings with the official launch of a new Padel court in Green Point. This exciting addition to the Virgin Active Padel Club family marks a significant step in providing accessible and inclusive Padel experiences to the Virgin Active community.

The Virgin Active Padel Club initiative was initially unveiled in October of last year and has since joined forces with Epic Padel, one of South Africa’s premier Padel companies. The official launch took place earlier this year in Johannesburg, with subsequent rebranding of Epic Padel clubs at Huddle Park, Durbanville and The Glen as Virgin Active Padel Club.

Leandre Kark, Head of Brand & Communications at Virgin Active South Africa, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, “Incorporating Padel into our offering was an obvious decision for us, considering how the sport has grown globally and in South Africa. The structure of the game makes it very accessible and inclusive for all ages, which is a key consideration for us when it comes to upholding our wellness philosophy for our members.”

Epic Padel, known for building iconic Padel clubs, including South Africa’s first multi-court indoor arena, covered outdoor court, and singles courts, continues to drive the expansion of Padel facilities across South Africa. The recent expansion at Huddle Park, along with new clubs at Randpark Golf Club (Johannesburg) and Groenkloof Bowling Club (Pretoria), has already concluded.

“We’re thrilled to bring this epic partnership to South Africans with one of the most iconic fitness brands in South Africa – Virgin Active,” says Elian Wiener, who together with co-founders of Epic Padel – Adam Fine and Richard Lewis – will continue to drive the expansion of the business.

“Our focus is to build and operate Padel courts at Virgin Active clubs as well as standalone locations nationwide. We couldn’t be more excited to bring our passion for Padel to Virgin Active, enabling even more opportunity for people to get fit, have fun and build relationships,” he adds.

Virgin Active Padel Clubs are open to everyone, welcoming both members and non-members. The world-class courts offer players access to bathroom and locker room facilities, food and beverage offerings, coaching, leagues, and tournaments. The pro shops at the clubs feature a variety of Padel merchandise, including the largest range of Adidas Padel products available for purchase and rent.

Virgin Active members are eligible to become Virgin Active Padel Club members at no additional cost. Membership benefits include a 20% discount off court bookings, priority bookings, discounts on selected merchandise, invitations to exclusive events, and access to Virgin Active Padel Club WhatsApp groups for convenient game arrangements and updates.

For more information on how to become a Virgin Active Padel Club member, visit the Virgin Active website.

“Our Padel clubs are intended to be spaces where anyone can come to exercise, have fun and socialise through the sport. We look forward to growing our footprint to provide safe, inclusive and healthy Padel experiences to communities across the country,” concludes Kark.
