After his sold-out tour in October 2022, Australian singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts was thrilled to announce his return to South Africa for a 2023 tour.

Alberts is set to perform at the Old Biscuit Mill, Cape Town and Sognage, Johannesburg, and headlining at Splashy Fen Festival, Underberg. Supporting him is South African Indie-Folk artist Sean Koch. This tour promises to be an unforgettable night of music and fun.

Ziggy Alberts’ South African shows are part of a wider world tour that will see him perform over 80 shows around the globe this year alone. The REWIND TOUR will showcase a collection of all Alberts’ fan favourites and celebrate his latest studio albums, DANCING IN THE DARK and searching for freedom.

With the REWIND TOUR already selling out fast around the globe and only 4 weeks until he lands in South Africa, don’t miss your chance to see Ziggy live this year!

TICKETS ON SALE FROM ZIGGYALBERTS.COM

2023 SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR DATES:
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2023 – OLD BISCUIT MILL – CAPE TOWN
SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2023 – SPLASHY FEN – UNDERBERG
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 2023 – SOGNAGE – JOHANNESBURG

Musically, Ziggy’s sound has raised comparisons to the likes of early Ben Howard or Jack Johnson. His sound is laid back, soulful and folk-tinged, and his songwriting is honest and personal. Whilst Ziggy Alberts is similar to his contemporaries in writing about his personal experiences, his music is layered with subtextual references to issues close to his heart, such as the natural world, the human experience and the wider planet.

Founder of his independent label, Commonfolk Records, and book publishing house, Commonfolk Publishing, Ziggy Alberts has managed to craft what many musicians and authors dream of – the ability to tell a story on their own terms. In 2022, Ziggy was awarded an APRA for his track letting go. He has also earned ARIA Platinum certifications for Laps Around The Sun (Double Platinum), Gone, Runaway, Heaven, Love Me Now, Stronger and Four Feet in the Forest (EP), plus Gold certifications for his Laps Around The Sun album and six tracks in his catalogue.
