On December 1, 2024, Zkhiphani celebrates 15 years of championing urban youth culture with a major event at 1Fox in Newtown, Johannesburg. A pivotal platform for the latest in music, fashion, and art, Zkhiphani’s anniversary festival promises an all-encompassing cultural experience alongside four powerhouse partners—The Sobering Podcast, $TREETFE$T Underground, Happyville, and Partytime’s Playroom to create an immersive experience for South Africa’s youth.

In the lead-up to this event, Zkhiphani hosted the ZK15 Live Sessions at the Fresh AF offices in Sandton. This three-day event offered intimate discussions with friends of Zkhiphani and featured live performances by top artists, including Khuli Chana, Usimamane, 25K, Frank Casino, Fif Laaa, Uncle Partytime, and NOTBENJAMIN. Building on this momentum, The Sobering Podcast will now take over ZK15 Live Sessions at the main event, leading cultural dialogues through an immersive live podcast experience featuring guest panels, performances, and a relaxed lounge setup.

The Sobering X ZK15 Live Sessions Takeover

Hosted by Kabelo, Kitso, and Mokgethwa, The Sobering will lead the ZK15 Live Sessions at the main event, featuring live panels, exclusive DJ sets, and a custom lounge where guests can engage with some of South Africa’s most influential cultural voices.

$TREETFE$T Underground: Talent Search Grand Finale

$TREETFE$T Underground brings a unique talent competition to ZK15, hosting a thrilling open mic and beat battle where emerging talent will compete for high-profile performance slots. The finale will showcase top competitors, providing new artists a platform to reach broader audiences and accelerate their careers. $TREETFE$T Founder NOTBENJAMIN will also deliver a DJ set accompanied by performances from Belo Salo, SCUMIE, BabyDaiz, KindlyNxsh, and PatricKXXLee.

Friends of the Ville: Experiential Pop-Up Store and Lounge

In collaboration with Happyville and Hall of Guts, Friends of the Ville presents an experiential marketplace featuring a collaborative, limited-edition Zkhiphani merchandise collection, custom print designs, and DJ set by Earl Ghandi and more. This interactive space celebrates Johannesburg’s creative spirit, inviting attendees to relax, shop, and engage with local culture. The fashion pop-up lounge will showcase collections by Vuzi and Don Design.

Partytime’s Playroom Stage

Playroom, founded by Uncle Partytime, will host a vibrant artist stage where emerging and established musicians alike can showcase their talents. This stage offers a collaborative environment for artists to perform and connect with industry leaders, continuing Playroom’s legacy of fostering innovation and cultural expression. Expect performances by Loatinover Pounds, Priddy Ugly, Sliqe, Dee Koala, Kane Keid, Mashbeatz, Qwellers, Mochen, Gvnt, Nahledi, Panamera, and Young Soldier.

ZKHIPHANI’S 15-YEAR Unmissable Cultural Tribute Celebration

In addition to these incredible experiences, Zkhiphani will host one-of-a-kind performances by leading names in Hip-Hop and Amapiano, amplified by state-of-the-art production elements that reflect both the legacy and future of South African music and fashion. This unforgettable event honours the immense contributions of urban youth culture while celebrating Zkhiphani’s legacy as a voice for the next generation.
