Radisson Blu Waterfront – An Awe-Inspiring Stay

Luxury means something different to each one of us, for some, it’s the unrivalled convenience coupled with a host of amenities, and for others, it’s a state of being, immersed in an experience where you have top-tier service at every interaction. For me, it’s consistency and the thrill of something new. Though every hotel has its own unique offering with standard markers of a five-star property, the Radisson Blu Waterfront offers something more than a conventional five-star experience.

Walk through your suite, where you’re greeted with one of the largest hotel bathrooms I’ve seen, then the bedroom on the left, and when you get to the end of the hallway, the living space opens up, and calls you to walk towards the balcony. Pushing back the curtains and through the sliding doors, the ocean breeze welcomes you to an unforgettable experience as you look over the water, less than 150m away.

The feeling of ‘awe’ and being in awe has a positive effect on the body. The wonder and amazement one feels when in admiration of something has even been proven to reduce chronic inflammation, so waking up to awe-inspiring views and the ocean at your doorstep, is not only going to benefit your physical health but also has an effect on your mental well-being. It’s an opportunity to be still, reflect, and no matter how long you stay, it’s a chance to feel pride and gratitude for the experience.

Back inside, the lounge has ample space to enjoy drinks with old friends, before heading out for a night on the town, or if this is the relaxing holiday you’ve been craving, it’s ideal for putting up your feet, turning down the lights and putting on some relaxing music as you lounge around in your robe. The design is modern, and warm, with light tones, and two mirrors in the space, it’s filled with light. The minibar fridge is stocked for your convenience, and the coffee bar has various options including still water for the kettle, as well as hot chocolate in the drawer amongst the Nespresso Pods and the selection of teas.

Through the shutter doors, which are able to fold open completely, creating a free-flowing area between the bedroom and the living room, the bedroom boasts one of the most comfortable king-size beds you’ve yet to sleep on. Back towards the front door, the large bathroom has a spacious shower, large bath, 2 basins and a generous amount of amenities which gives you the freedom of booking a night whether you’ve packed for it it or not… We all have that one person who forgets something, or maybe we are that person, but even though you have everything you may need, the salts for the bath, the toothbrush and the bath flower round off an emasculate offering.

Besides being a stone’s throw away from the V&A Waterfront, or the Tamboerskloof market, being around the corner from the promenade or the Green Point Stadium, the hotel boasts amenities that we explore in a bit more detail later this month.  So, Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, somewhere to reignite the flame, some time for yourself, or an unforgettable treat, the Radisson Blu Waterfront will be the best option for you.
