Discover Sport™, South Africa’s newest and most innovative sports streaming platform, has announced a pioneering 3-year partnership with Tennis South Africa (TSA). The collaboration, revealed just days after Discover Sport™’s official launch on 2 September, marks a new era for South African tennis by ensuring that the nation’s premier competitions are broadcast consistently to fans at home and around the world.
A Partnership Rooted in Access and Visibility
The alliance sees Discover Sport™ become the official streaming partner of TSA, delivering live coverage across both digital platforms and mainstream broadcasters. The mission is clear: increase visibility, accessibility, and impact for tennis in South Africa, while inspiring the next generation of players and fans.
Launched in pilot phase earlier in 2025, Discover Sport™ quickly gained traction as a trusted digital hub for underrepresented sports. With its “enable, empower, and amplify” philosophy, the platform provides federations with tools to broadcast competitions, showcase athletes, and connect with supporters in meaningful ways.
“Our role has always been clear: we are here to enable,” said Stephen Watson, Founder of Discover Sport™.
“Tennis South Africa has incredible athletes and competitions, and our purpose is to give them the stage to connect more fans with the game. We believe sport has the power to unite and inspire, and this partnership makes tennis more visible than ever before.”
Elevating South African Tennis
For Tennis South Africa, this agreement is a milestone moment. Beyond elite matches, the partnership will spotlight athlete stories, community programmes, and grassroots development, helping to build a sustainable following for the sport nationwide.
Anthony Moruthane, General Manager of TSA, added:
“This partnership marks a new era for South African tennis. It’s not just about broadcasting matches, it’s about telling our players’ stories, inspiring communities, and building a legacy of opportunity. Tennis has incredible potential in South Africa, and this partnership gives us the platform to truly flourish.”
What Fans Can Expect
The collaboration will deliver comprehensive coverage of South Africa’s top-tier tennis events, including:
-
ITF World Tennis Tour events
-
Davis Cup (World Cup of Tennis)
-
Junior National Championships & Junior Masters
-
Rising Star Tennis National School Championships
-
National Club Championships
The partnership debuts on a flagship stage: the upcoming Davis Cup tie between South Africa and Morocco (13–14 September 2025). Fans can stream the matches live on Discover Sport™, watch via mainstream broadcasters, and enjoy highlights distributed through the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Every rally and decisive point will be captured for South Africans to witness history unfold on home soil.
Beyond the Court: Storytelling and Innovation
To deepen fan engagement, Discover Sport™ and TSA will co-create a Monthly Magazine Show—a bite-size production that blends highlights, player profiles, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. This storytelling-driven approach ensures that fans see more than results—they’ll see the personalities, sacrifices, and journeys of South African tennis athletes.
Discover Sport™: The Platform That Gives Back
Dubbed the “app that gives back”, Discover Sport™ is more than a streaming service—it’s a social media platform for sport. Athletes can showcase their talent, engage with fans, attract sponsors, and even be scouted globally, while fans gain direct access to their sporting heroes. By bridging the gap between grassroots and professional levels, Discover Sport™ is redefining how sport connects people.
Watson concluded:
“This is an exciting partnership for us and for South African tennis. On behalf of the entire Discover Sport™ team, we wish the players, their families, and their sponsors the very best for the tournaments ahead.”
