Supercar Rhino Run Powers into Kyalami to Drive Hope for Orphaned Rhinos

OHANNESBURG – The unmistakable sound of roaring engines will echo through the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 19 July 2026, but this time, every rev carries a purpose beyond performance.

The Supercar Rhino Run returns for its landmark 2026 edition, bringing together more than 150 of South Africa’s finest performance vehicles for what promises to be its biggest and most ambitious charity event yet. Set against the backdrop of one of Africa’s most celebrated motorsport venues, the event combines elite automotive culture with a mission that could help change the future of orphaned rhino calves.

Now entering its fifth year, the Supercar Rhino Run has evolved from a modest convoy of just 30 supercars into one of South Africa’s most recognised conservation fundraising initiatives. What started as an effort to raise enough milk to feed 40 orphaned rhino calves for one month has grown into a nationwide movement that surpassed R100,000 in cash donations for the second consecutive year in 2024.

This year’s move to Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit marks another milestone, creating a larger platform to unite performance car owners, families, conservation supporters and corporate partners around a shared cause.

Where Supercars Meet Conservation

While visitors can expect an unforgettable automotive spectacle, the heart of the event lies in its conservation mission.

Every registration fee, cash donation and litre of Fat-Free Long-Life Milk collected will go directly to Rhino Connect NPO, the South African organisation founded by Tersia Jooste.

Rhino Connect rescues, rehabilitates and protects rhino calves orphaned through poaching. From emergency veterinary intervention to long-term rehabilitation, the organisation cares for vulnerable calves until they are ready to return safely to the wild.

One orphaned rhino calf in rehabilitation requires up to 20 litres of fat-free long-life milk every day, making every donation an important contribution to their survival.

A Full-Throttle Family Experience

Beyond the impressive line-up of supercars, spectators can look forward to an action-packed day filled with entertainment.

The programme includes:

  • Thrilling Gymkhana demonstrations
  • Tyre-smoking burnout displays
  • Entertainment throughout the day
  • Food and beverage vendors
  • Family-friendly activities
  • Charity activations
  • Pit Walk viewing opportunities

Visitors are also encouraged to bring Fat-Free Long-Life Milk donations when attending the event, helping directly support Rhino Connect’s ongoing rehabilitation efforts.

Growing Bigger Every Year

The Supercar Rhino Run has steadily expanded since its launch in 2021, becoming more than just a convoy.

Powered by Ferris Cars, the event continues to attract South Africa’s supercar community while inspiring businesses and individuals to support rhino conservation through sponsorships, donations and participation.

Supercar owners interested in joining the convoy can submit a vehicle application for committee approval. Successful applicants pay a R500 registration fee, with participation limited to approved two- to four-seater performance vehicles.

Corporate sponsorship opportunities also remain available for organisations looking to align with one of South Africa’s growing conservation initiatives.

Driving Passion Towards a Greater Purpose

Reflecting on the significance of this year’s event, Tersia Jooste, Founder of Rhino Connect NPO, said:

“Every car on that grid represents a choice to use what you love for something that matters. Kyalami is a statement. We are raising the bar in 2026 — for the run, for our sponsors, and most importantly for the rhinos.”

Ferris Cars, which has powered the initiative since its inception, also highlighted how far the event has come.

“Ferris Cars has been proud to power this event since the beginning. What the Supercar Rhino Run has become is extraordinary — and Kyalami is exactly the stage it deserves.”
