What happens when curiosity becomes the starting point for an adventure?

For young explorers, it can open the door to a world of experiments, questions, discovery and new ways of understanding the world around them.

That is the idea behind NANKID® World, an immersive family experience being launched by NESTLÉ® NANKID® OPTIPRO® GOLD 4 in Johannesburg and Cape Town this October.

Created for children aged 3 to 6, the experience will combine interactive science pods, hands-on experiments and playful learning activities. At the same time, parents and caregivers will have opportunities to engage, learn and access guidance around child growth and development.

Where Curiosity Meets Science

NANKID® World has been designed to make science more accessible and engaging for young children.

Across the experience, interactive pods will give children the opportunity to explore scientific concepts through hands-on activities, experiments and playful challenges.

Rather than simply watching, children will be encouraged to get involved.

They will be able to observe, experiment, test ideas and ask questions, while discovering how science connects with the world around them.

It is this combination of play and exploration that sits at the centre of the experience.

Learning Through Play

The launch also builds on the recognised role of play in early childhood development.

According to UNICEF South Africa, play is fundamental to children’s learning and development. It supports cognitive development, social skills and emotional resilience, while also encouraging creativity, connection and confidence.

NANKID® World builds on this principle by creating what the brand describes as an edutainment experience for South African families.

Children will have an environment where they can have fun while developing new skills. Meanwhile, parents and caregivers will be able to participate in the experience and access expert guidance in a supportive, family-focused environment.

Parents Are Part of the Experience Too

The experience is not designed for children alone.

Parents and caregivers will also have the opportunity to interact with a qualified health expert who will be available throughout the event.

The expert will answer questions and provide practical insights on supporting children’s growth and development.

This creates an experience that brings together discovery for children and useful guidance for the adults supporting them.

As Jonathan Sidi, Senior Brand Manager for Infant Nutrition at Nestlé East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR), explains, curiosity is an important part of early childhood learning.

“Curiosity is one of the most powerful drivers of learning in early childhood.”

Sidi says NANKID® World was created to give children the opportunity to explore, discover and enjoy science through play, while also giving parents and caregivers access to expert guidance and a supportive community.

Unlocking a Golden Ticket

To celebrate the launch of NANKID® World, consumers will also have an opportunity to win exclusive access to the experience through the brand’s “Unlock Your Golden Ticket” consumer competition.

The entry process is straightforward.

Consumers need to:

  1. Purchase one 900g tin of NESTLÉ® NANKID® OPTIPRO® GOLD 4 in a single transaction.
  2. Upload the till slip via WhatsApp to +27 73 091 4106.
  3. Type NANKID and follow the prompts to complete the entry.

Every successful entry will automatically be entered into a random draw.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to purchase, upload and enter for their chance to secure a golden ticket to the event.

There are also important eligibility conditions. Children attending the launch events must be between 3 and 6 years old, and there is one prize per person or household.

Terms and conditions apply.

A New Way to Explore

At its heart, NANKID® World is built around a simple invitation: explore, ask questions and discover.

From interactive science pods and hands-on experiments to playful challenges and expert guidance, the experience aims to create a space where learning feels active and engaging.

For children, that can mean getting hands-on with ideas and discovering connections between science and everyday life.

For parents and caregivers, it offers an opportunity to be part of that journey while accessing practical insights about child development.

With NESTLÉ® NANKID® OPTIPRO® GOLD 4 bringing its NANKID® World experience to Johannesburg and Cape Town this October, young minds are being invited to step into a world where curiosity leads the way.

And sometimes, the biggest discoveries start with the smallest question: “Why?”
