South Africa’s gaming community has two fresh looks to add to its radar. Sony has announced new colour options for its INZONE gaming gear, bringing esports-inspired styling and a distinctive purple finish to two products designed for competitive play.

Announced on 9 October 2026, the additions are the INZONE H9 II Fnatic Edition and the INZONE E9 in Glass Purple. Both products form part of Sony’s INZONE range, which combines gaming-focused design with sound technology developed to support immersive, focused gameplay.

Meet the INZONE H9 II Fnatic Edition

The INZONE H9 II is getting a new look inspired by Fnatic, the leading esports team that worked with Sony on the gaming gear.

The Fnatic Edition joins the existing Black and White colour options, bringing the total number of available colours for the headset to three.

Beyond its appearance, the INZONE H9 II is designed with competitive gaming in mind, particularly first-person shooter (FPS) titles. Its sound reproduction helps players hear distant footsteps and deep rumbles, while an FPS-optimised equaliser preset further enhances sound clarity during gameplay.

Sony has based the headset’s driver unit on the technology used in its WH-1000XM6 wireless noise-cancelling headphones. The headset also features a lightweight design intended to provide comfort during extended gaming sessions.

Battery life is another key feature. The INZONE H9 II offers up to 30 hours of battery life under specific conditions: a 2.4GHz connection, noise cancelling switched off and chat active.

For players who spend long hours in competitive matches, these features bring sound clarity, comfort and endurance into one gaming headset.

INZONE E9 brings Glass Purple to the lineup

Sony is also introducing Glass Purple to the INZONE E9 compact wired in-ear headphones.

The colour draws directly from INZONE’s brand identity and joins Black and White as the three available colour options for the E9.

The new finish also connects the headphones with the INZONE Buds Glass Purple, creating a unified Glass Purple range across the two products.

The INZONE E9 focuses on helping players concentrate on the sounds that matter. It features Sony’s first fully enclosed structure and sealed body, working alongside noise-isolation ear tips to provide passive noise reduction.

This design helps reduce distractions from crowded professional gaming tournaments and everyday background noise.

Comfort is also part of the design. The E9 features a compact shape, a low-pressure fit and multiple sizes of hybrid ear tips to support comfortable use throughout the day.

For competitive players, reducing outside distractions can help create a more focused listening experience, whether preparing for a tournament or gaming at home.

Designed with competitive gaming in mind

The INZONE H9 II and INZONE E9 were developed with Fnatic, drawing on the esports team’s gaming expertise and feedback from professional players alongside Sony’s sound technology.

Both products are designed especially for competitive gameplay, with a focus on first-person shooter titles.

While the H9 II offers a wireless headset experience with noise cancelling, the E9 provides a compact, wired in-ear alternative with a fully enclosed design and passive noise reduction.

The new colours give gamers more choice in how their equipment looks, while keeping the products’ gaming-focused features at the centre of the experience.

A fresh look for Sony INZONE

With the Fnatic Edition and Glass Purple additions, Sony is expanding the visual identity of its INZONE gaming gear without changing the core focus of these products: sound, comfort and concentration during gameplay.

The INZONE H9 II is now presented in Black, White and Fnatic Edition, while the INZONE E9 is available in Black, White and Glass Purple.
