Sometimes, the perfect escape from Johannesburg is a table full of delicious food, a beautiful garden and nowhere else you need to be.

That is the invitation behind L’Antico Giardino’s October Harvest Table, returning on Saturday, 31 October 2026, following the launch of the monthly series in September.

Presented by The Forum Company, the experience brings seasonal flavours and relaxed countryside dining together in the gardens of L’Antico Giardino in Lanseria. It is an opportunity to gather friends, enjoy the outdoors and settle in for a leisurely afternoon built around good food and good company.

A seasonal spread worth savouring

October’s Harvest Table celebrates seasonal ingredients with a generous selection of hot and cold dishes, served harvest-style.

The menu opens with homemade focaccia topped with sweet onions and wild mushrooms, accompanied by cultured butter. For something fresh, there is a pickled pear salad featuring wild rocket, cucumber ribbons and blue cheese. A spiced Caprese salad brings together buffalo mozzarella, chilli oil and fresh basil.

The main dishes turn up the flavour with tender roasted whole beef sirloin served with chimichurri and fire-roasted chicken with garlic and lemon.

Seasonal sides bring even more variety to the table. Guests can look forward to charred Romanesco broccoli with toasted almonds, crispy corn ribs with chilli and lime, and roasted new potatoes finished with lemon, capers and brown butter.

It is a menu that balances fresh flavours, comforting favourites and thoughtful combinations, making the meal as much about discovering different tastes as it is about enjoying a long afternoon with friends.

Save room for something sweet

No leisurely lunch is complete without a sweet finish.

For October, the dessert offering takes inspiration from Black Forest flavours. Chocolate brownies are topped with white chocolate mousse and blackberry compote, bringing a rich, indulgent ending to the Harvest Table experience.

With its changing menu and seasonal inspiration each month, the series gives Johannesburg diners another reason to venture beyond the city and enjoy a different countryside dining experience.
