This year, Bedford Centre is embracing the heart of the holidays with a festive programme that honours the beauty of timeless traditions and the joy of moments shared. Visitors can look forward to a season filled with music, markets, connection and Christmas magic — all designed to capture the warmth and wonder of the holidays.

From glowing décor to community gatherings and family-friendly activities, Bedford is transforming into a destination where old favourites and new memories come together.

A Festive Evening to Diarise

Bedford’s Christmas celebrations officially begin on Friday, 5 December, with an evening woven in harmony, community and holiday cheer.

At 18:00, on the lower level, shoppers will be treated to Christmas Carols performed by Jeppe High School for Girls and St James Presbyterian Church. Expect an evening of nostalgia, unity and the timeless songs that make Christmas feel like Christmas.

On the same day, from 4 PM – 10 PM, the beloved Bedford Sunset Market returns, transforming the Entrance 2 parking area into a relaxed open-air marketplace. Visitors can enjoy delicious food, handcrafted gifts, and live music under the warm Bedfordview sky.

Together, the Carols and the Sunset Market offer the perfect festive pairing — a single evening where song, sparkle and shared moments come alive.

Markets, Memories & Meaningful Moments

The celebration continues from 13 to 23 December with Bedford’s Indoor Festive Market on the lower level. Here, local artisans will showcase curated gifts, seasonal goodies and handmade décor — ideal for shoppers seeking unique presents with heart.

On Saturday, 13 December, the centre will host the SPCA Book Fair in the lower-level centre court, giving visitors a chance to support the Germiston SPCA while discovering literary treasures. This aligns with Bedford’s ongoing commitment to meaningful community involvement, echoed again through the centre’s festive gift-wrapping station, where proceeds will also benefit the Germiston SPCA.

Festive Décor, Family Fun & Extended Shopping Hours

Bedford’s décor this season embraces the classic colours of Christmas — red, gold and green, creating an elegant and nostalgic backdrop throughout the centre. Shoppers can look forward to the iconic giant outdoor LED Christmas tree, the return of photos with Santa, and appearances from the Bedford teddy bear — a favourite for children and families.

For a dash of playful energy, the popular Neon Glow Mini Golf will be open daily from 5 – 23 December, bringing bright, immersive fun to visitors of all ages. Trading hours for the mini golf will be updated regularly on Bedford’s social media.

To ensure stress-free shopping, from 17 – 23 December, most stores will extend trading to 7:00 PM, with normal weekend hours applying.

A Season to Celebrate – Together

Whether it’s gathering for music, strolling through markets, taking photos with Santa, or enjoying glow-in-the-dark mini golf, Bedford Centre has curated a holiday season where the magic is not just seen — it’s shared.
