Breitling South Africa has renewed its partnership with World Cup Rugby Winner Canan Moodie, who continues to be a brand ambassador for the second year in a row. In celebration of the partnership renewal, Breitling’s team in South Africa hosted Moodie at the Breitling boutique in Sandton City, Johannesburg, where he selected his top watch picks for this season.

During his visit to the boutique, Canon Moodie explored some of Breitling’s extensive range and selected a few top picks including the Chronomat B01 42 in green, Chronomat B01 42 Triumph edition, and the Avenger Night Mission. Moodie’s top choice was the Super Chronomat B01 44 in a blue dial colour and matching blue rouleaux rubber strap which represents the team colour of the Bulls, which Moodie plays for. He proudly wears his Super Chronomat on match days and throughout the season.

Commenting on his partnership with Breitling, Canan Moodie said: “I am grateful to renew my partnership with Breitling and to once again be associated with this pioneering brand. The Super Chronomat caught my attention instantly and I knew it was the watch for me. It is a bold companion to my supercharged lifestyle and matches the colours of my rugby team perfectly.”

Commenting on the partnership, Ian Piguet, Managing Director of Breitling South Africa said: “We’re thrilled to have Canan as a member of our squad for another year. His journey continues to inspire us, and we look forward to a long-lasting partnership in which we continue to support his passion for rugby.”

The South African professional rugby player currently plays for the Bulls in the URC and South African national team, the Springboks. Moodie helped South Africa claim their fourth Rugby World Cup title in October 2023. He was only 20 years old when the Rugby World Cup began, making him the youngest member of the team when he scored a try early in the tournament.

Since 2022, Breitling has been the Official Timing Partner of Six Nations Rugby. In celebration of this partnership, the brand formed a Rugby Squad of ambassadors and launched a limited-edition series of two models earlier this year: the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 and Chronomat 32. The Chronomat Six Nations Limited Editions were designed to pay homage to rugby’s heritage and spirit, embodying its pursuit of excellence through action while reflecting an ethos of teamwork, inclusivity, integrity, and creativity. They also share a deep heritage: Breitling was founded in 1884, while Six Nations Rugby can trace its roots back a year earlier, to 1883.
