Pretoria is about to become a playground for imagination as Brickfair 2026 brings thousands of LEGO® fans together for a weekend of creativity, incredible builds and family-friendly fun.
Taking place on 24 and 25 October 2026, the event will transform Menlyn Park Shopping Centre into a celebration of LEGO artistry. Presented in partnership with Great Yellow Brick and Brickfair, it is billed as Africa’s largest LEGO fan event.
Visitors can expect an impressive showcase of brick-built creations, with millions of LEGO pieces assembled into extraordinary displays. More than 240 tables will feature everything from detailed cityscapes and engineering marvels to fantasy worlds and pop culture-inspired designs.
With more than 130 exhibitors, including members of the renowned zaLUG and JoburgLUG LEGO User Groups, Brickfair 2026 will bring together builders, collectors, families and enthusiasts from across South Africa and beyond.
More Than an Exhibition
Brickfair is not just about looking at incredible creations. Visitors will also have opportunities to get hands-on and explore their own creativity.
LEGO South Africa will host dedicated play areas where children can enjoy free building activities, colouring-in stations and other interactive LEGO fun. Aspiring builders can also take part in build competitions happening throughout the weekend.
One of the major highlights will be the official Brickfair Build Competition. Entrants will present their creations for judging on Saturday, with the winners announced at the prize-giving ceremony on Sunday.
Builders interested in exhibiting their work or entering the competition can register through Brickfair South Africa.
A Fresh Experience for Menlyn Park Visitors
For Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, hosting Brickfair forms part of its focus on creating engaging experiences beyond traditional shopping.
Nisha Kemraj, General Manager of Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, says events like Brickfair add another dimension to the centre’s retail offering. They give customers more reasons to spend time at the centre while enjoying memorable experiences alongside its brands and retailers.
Kemraj also highlights the event’s broad appeal, from dedicated LEGO enthusiasts to families looking for a different kind of day out. She says the partnership with Brickfair and Great Yellow Brick helps position Menlyn Park as a destination offering fresh and engaging experiences.
Willi Badenhorst, one of the organisers of Brickfair, says the partnership helps grow South Africa’s LEGO building community and makes the event accessible to a wider audience.
He adds that Menlyn Park provides a space where builders, families and enthusiasts can come together to share their passion and celebrate what can be achieved with LEGO bricks.
