There are stories that entertain — and then there are stories that unravel you. This May, one of television’s most emotionally charged dramas returns, promising a season where every secret has consequences and every decision carries weight.

Cacau is back for its highly anticipated second season, premiering on Monday, 4 May 2026 on Telemundo (DStv 118). With new episodes airing nightly at 10 PM until the finale on 8 August 2026, the series deepens its exploration of love, betrayal, and the dangerous cost of ambition.

A Story Tightening Its Grip

Season 2 wastes no time raising the stakes.

Following Justino’s death, the battle for his inheritance becomes a ruthless game of power. Simone, now more calculating than ever, steps into the spotlight — forging alliances, concealing a past built on deception, and eliminating threats with chilling precision.

As suspicion begins to close in, her world becomes increasingly fragile. Every move is strategic. Every relationship is transactional. And every secret is a ticking time bomb.

Love Under Siege

At the emotional core of the story lies a question that refuses to fade: can love survive in a world driven by greed?

Cacau finds herself caught in a storm of truth and heartbreak. Her search for answers about Marquinho’s paternity sets off a chain reaction — one that forces her to confront painful realities about her past and uncertain truths about her future.

Meanwhile, Simone aligns with Marco in a calculated attempt to destroy the bond between Cacau and Tiago.

The result is a narrative where trust is fragile, loyalty is tested, and love must fight to survive against overwhelming odds.

A Cast That Commands the Screen

Season 2 brings together a powerhouse ensemble of talent, led by:

  • Matilde Reymão as Cacau
  • José Condessa as Tiago
  • Alexandra Lencastre
  • Carolina Amaral
  • Paulo Pires
  • Inês Castel-Branco
  • Fernanda Serrano
  • Diogo Amaral
  • Vítor Britto

Each performance adds depth to a story where emotional intensity meets cinematic storytelling.

Behind the Scenes: Crafting the Drama

Cacau is a collaboration between TVI and Plural Entertainment, with international distribution handled by Onza Distribution.

The series is written by Maria João Costa alongside Edu Araújo and Rui Nuno Vaz Tomé, and directed by Edgar Miranda, Ricardo Carreira, Rafael Rahal and Letícia Veiga. Executive production is led by Ana Almeida.

Together, they shape a world where storytelling is layered, characters are complex, and nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

A Season That Demands Attention

Season 2 of Cacau is not just a continuation — it’s an escalation.

It is where:

  • Secrets refuse to stay buried
  • Power shifts in unexpected ways
  • Love is tested beyond its limits
  • And betrayal becomes a language of survival

As the story unfolds night after night, viewers are drawn deeper into a narrative that asks one haunting question:

When everything is at stake, what are you willing to lose — and who are you willing to become?
