There is something special about watching football with fellow fans.

The anticipation before kick-off. The roar when the ball hits the back of the net. The shared belief that anything is possible when your team takes the field.

This winter, Canal Walk is creating the perfect space for those moments with its Soccer Fan Zone, brought to shoppers in partnership with Coca-Cola.

Located in the Food Court, the Fan Zone will transform match days into a vibrant celebration of football as supporters come together to follow selected 2026 FIFA World Cup fixtures on the big screen.

For South African fans backing Bafana Bafana, it offers an opportunity to experience every goal, save and unforgettable moment alongside a passionate community of football lovers.

More Than Just Match Screenings

The Fan Zone is not only about watching the action unfold.

Canal Walk and Coca-Cola are also giving visitors the chance to test their own football skills and win instant prizes.

Shoppers simply need to purchase a Coca-Cola or add one to a meal at any participating restaurant. Once they have their receipt, they can bring it to the Fan Zone and hand it to a marshal.

From there, it is game on.

Participants will get the opportunity to take aim at goal targets and, if successful, walk away with an instant reward.

The activation adds an extra layer of excitement to every match day and gives fans the chance to become part of the action themselves.

Football Fun Throughout the Tournament

Even if visitors miss one of the scheduled Fan Zone activations, the football atmosphere will continue throughout the tournament.

Foosball tables will remain available free of charge, giving friends and families a chance to enjoy some friendly competition while following the World Cup action on screen.

Whether supporting your favourite team, challenging friends to a foosball showdown or simply soaking up the tournament atmosphere, the Fan Zone offers something for everyone.

Key Fan Zone Dates

Football supporters can join the action on the following dates:

  • 18 June | 4pm – 6pm
  • 26 June | 5pm – 7pm
  • 3 July | 6pm – 8pm
  • 4 July | 5pm – 7pm
  • 10 July | 7pm – 9pm
  • 18 July | 6pm – 9pm
  • 19 July | 6pm – 9pm

All activations take place in the Canal Walk Food Court.

Entry to the Fan Zone is free, while participation in the Coca-Cola challenge requires the purchase of a Coca-Cola beverage.

Cape Town’s Home of Entertainment

As Cape Town’s largest shopping centre, Canal Walk continues to combine retail, dining, leisure and entertainment under one roof.

Situated in Century City, the centre offers hundreds of local and international brands, a wide variety of restaurants and cafés, and one of the city’s most advanced cinema experiences through Nu Metro.

The addition of the Soccer Fan Zone reinforces Canal Walk’s reputation as a destination where major sporting moments can be enjoyed with family, friends and fellow supporters.

Bringing Fans Together

Football has a unique way of bringing people together.

For a few hours, strangers become teammates. Every cheer feels louder. Every goal feels bigger.

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup unfolds, Canal Walk is giving supporters a place to share those moments.

The screens are ready.

The football is about to begin.

All that is missing is the gees.
