Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel by MORE Family Collection Unveils New Stable Suites

The historic Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, owned by South African hospitality group MORE Family Collection, has opened its new Stable Suites. This marks an evolution for this landmark in Cape Town’s vibrant Kloof Street neighbourhood, while honouring its rich heritage dating back to the 1850s.

The 10 newly converted Stable Suites are located on King Street – one of the last remaining cobbled streets in the area. As the most spacious accommodation category at the Cape Cadogan, these suites feature generous living areas with interleading, triple, and two-bedroom options – ideal for multi-generational families, business travellers and guests seeking a more exclusive experience.

Each suite includes a separate lounge and bar area, with select suites offering private courtyards or Juliet balconies. The “Stable Suites” name pays homage to the property’s history, built on land first granted in 1822 that later became home to coach houses and stables.

Enhanced guest experiences

For the first time in the hotel’s history, Cape Cadogan now welcomes children of all ages within the Stable Suites. This thoughtful expansion recognises the importance of creating flexible spaces where families can connect while enjoying Cape Town’s lively culture.

“This development represents more than just new rooms – it’s about creating environments where multiple generations can share meaningful experiences while still maintaining their own sense of space,” says Robert More, CEO and custodian of MORE Family Collection.

The property enhancements also include two new gathering spaces: the tranquil Botanical Conservatory filled with orchids and greenery, and the inviting Cadogan Bar serving curated wines, signature cocktails and light fare. Additionally, a partnership with Everard Read, Africa’s oldest and most prestigious gallery, brings rotating collections of contemporary South African artworks throughout the property.

A new chapter begins

Set in Cape Town’s Kloof Street neighbourhood with views of Table Mountain and easy access to the city’s café culture, boutique shopping and local attractions, the enhanced Cape Cadogan continues to offer an authentic sense of place while evolving to meet the needs of today’s travellers.

The new Stable Suites and guest areas are now open to visitors, inviting them to experience generous accommodation and welcoming spaces that honour the past while embracing the future.
