On 20 November 2022, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden will host two local pop sensations who will set this year’s Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts in motion. Look forward to a relaxing yet lively Sunday evening with performances by Craig Lucas and Lee Cole as you take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery in the Garden.

Craig Lucas‘ voice has become a familiar sound on radio stations across South Africa since the self-taught musician made a name for himself in 2017 after winning the second season of The Voice South Africa. 2022 has already proven to be a significant year for the artist as he produced his first show, along with vocalist Robin Pieters, at the Grand Arena. With 5 000 people in attendance, the entertainers were proud to sell out their show in less than a month.

At this year’s Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts, fans can expect a little bit of nostalgia and some surprise collaborations. “I’m very excited to perform my new single ‘Better’. Cape Town has received the song so well, and I know it will be a treat getting to sing it with the audience. My band and I will also perform classics such as everyone’s favourite, ‘Purple Rain’“, said Craig Lucas.

Lee Cole will blow concertgoers away with an electrifying, authentic and engaging performance highlighted by his powerful vocals. Following an unforgettable tour across the Eastern and Western Cape in February 2022, Lee returns to Cape Town and admits that the city has become a favourite destination for this Joburg artist. “Cape Town just has a magic about it, and at music events, you really get to see that energy come to life. For any artist, Kirstenbosch is an absolute dream and lifetime opportunity.” The singer recently released his latest single, ‘With or Without You’, which is currently one of the Top 10 most played local songs on SA radio, leaping to the top of the charts and playlists across radio stations in South Africa.

Influenced by rock bands Queen and AC/DC and pop artist Michael Jackson, Lee Cole’s sound is rooted in pop music, with a blend of unique vocal styling. Live concerts are what the singer does best, so anticipate a complete set of his biggest hits at the very first show of the year.

Enjoy an afternoon listening to world-class musical performances on the slopes of Table Mountain. Pack a picnic or preorder from the Kirstenbosch Tea Room or Moyo Restaurant five days in advance.

Tickets cost R190/p – R260/p at www.webtickets.co.za. Please note that Webtickets is the ONLY online ticketing partner. (Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden cannot guarantee that tickets purchased from third parties will be valid.)
