From “Yes” to the Dress: Ek’s Verloof Wedding Exhibition Took Over Woodlands Mall

For couples newly engaged and staring down a to-do list that feels longer than the aisle itself, Woodlands Mall became the place where wedding planning finally made sense. This February, the Ek’s Verloof Wedding Exhibition, hosted by Bruidsgids and Wedding Guide, transformed the shopping centre into a vibrant, two-day celebration of love, ideas and possibility.

Held on Friday, 7 February and Saturday, 8 February, the exhibition turned Woodlands into a full-scale wedding planning hub — one where inspiration moved beyond screens and group chats into real conversations with real people. From the moment couples walked in, it was clear this wasn’t about ticking boxes. It was about imagining what their day could truly look like.

Wedding Planning, Brought to Life

Across the mall, close to 80 exhibitors showcased everything needed to move confidently from engagement to “I do”. Bridal fashion that felt current and personal sat alongside décor concepts that pushed past the expected. Photographers offered insight into capturing authentic moments, while service providers spoke openly about balancing budgets with big dreams.

Rather than rushing between appointments or endlessly scrolling online, couples were able to see, touch and discuss options — all in one place, without pressure. Whether planning an intimate celebration or a grand affair, Ek’s Verloof created space for clarity, creativity and excitement.

Free Entry, Real Value

Entry to the exhibition was free, allowing couples to browse, explore and build shortlists at their own pace. Brides who registered at Entrance 2 outside Spur were rewarded with exclusive goodie bags, with the first 300 registered brides each day receiving something special to mark the moment.

For those seeking deeper guidance, interactive workshops hosted by Bruidsgids and Wedding Guide ran throughout both days. These sessions offered practical, straight-talking advice from seasoned wedding professionals — the kind of insights no search engine can replace. Workshops took place opposite PNA near Entrance 1 on the Wimpy side of the mall, with tickets priced at R250 per person and limited availability.

More Than an Exhibition

Ek’s Verloof wasn’t just about suppliers or trends — it was about restoring the joy of planning. It reminded couples that weddings are built from meaningful choices, not overwhelming checklists. For the newly engaged, the nearly married, or anyone craving inspiration that feels personal again, the exhibition delivered exactly that.
