We sat down with Josh for an exclusive one-on-one interview and delved deep into his recent career venture as a podcast host. Here’s what he had to say.

“StoryTime with Joshua Eady” has become a hit podcast. Can you share the origin story of how you decided to venture into the world of podcasting?
I started podcasting when Covid hit, and we could no longer get on set for film and television projects. I missed meeting interesting people and wanted a way to continue learning from others.

Talk us through the name: “StoryTime with Joshua Eady”. What does that mean for you?
The idea behind the name has always been to create a space for people to tell their stories. To have an authentic conversation that takes us behind the scenes into special moments in people’s lives. A person with a “win” is always admirable, but the story of achieving the win is where we connect the most and feel the most connection. It’s in the ups and downs that life happens.

When did you start the podcast and what was your vision for it?
I started the podcast in 2020 as a way to stay connected to people. The vision was always to invite interesting people, and in the future expand further. I later partnered with a good friend of mine, Ryan “Choppy” Pike, and we started what it is today.

What are your criteria when selecting interviewees and guests to be on the show?
Most importantly just finding people who are honest and open, willing to share, and able to think outside of themselves despite their many achievements.

What makes your podcast unique and a must-watch?
What I’ve been told by listeners that makes the podcast different, is the ability the show has, to just be fun genuine conversation amongst friends, rather than a question-and-answer show.
How often do you release interviews/episodes?
We release episodes weekly, with breaks ever so often.

Hosting a podcast involves engaging with a wide range of guests. What’s your secret to making each interview feel fresh and unique?
Trust the guest. Trust that they want to be there. By the time the guest arrives in the studio, we have done enough research to understand who they are, what their interests are, and what style of conversation we should have. I try my best to be honest, open, and raw with every guest, to allow myself to be just as vulnerable as they may be feeling.

Podcasting is all about conversation. How do you prepare for your interviews, and do you have any tips for keeping the conversation flowing naturally?
Identify what it is about the guest that interests you. Not all of us can be professional sportsmen and women, but there are characteristics and qualities that we can understand, appreciate and try to replicate in our own lives. Aim to learn from every guest.

From athletes to musicians to actors, you’ve had diverse guests on your show. Is there a dream guest you’re hoping to have on your podcast in the future?
It has been a dream to have Siya Kolisi on the show. I admire his achievements, but more importantly, I admire him as a father, a husband, and a leader.
In a world hungry for authentic talent and compelling narratives, Joshua Eady easily navigates the realms of acting, podcasting, modelling, and content creation. With each venture he undertakes, he leaves an indelible mark, solidifying his position as an international treasure with a future as bright as his boundless talents.
