Sun International CEO Ulrik Bengtsson today announced the appointment of Leslie Peters to the newly created position of Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO).

Peters, an accomplished technology executive, has over two decades of experience in software development, gaming technology, and digital transformation and valuable experience in high growth, regulated environments. He will report directly to Bengtsson.

Announcing the appointment, Bengtsson said Peters’ appointment will put the group in the right position to achieve strategic growth. “We are very focused on customer centric and product driven growth, powered by fit-for-purpose technology.  The appointment of Peters is a key step to execute on this strategy.  Peters will be responsible for shaping and executing Sun International’s technology vision, architecture, and product strategy in line with our vision to become a market-leading, digitally led, omnichannel gaming company of scale.”

Peters, previously the Chief Technology Officer at Games Global and Derivco, has scaled global operations, driven innovation, and led complex transitions, including the successful spin-off of Games Global from Derivco.

He brings a wealth of expertise to Sun International that encompasses cloud architecture, AI adoption, agile methodologies, and product lifecycle management, of building digital platforms from the ground up, and of supporting cultural and operational transformation. Peters played a key role in developing a cloud-native Remote Gaming System and restructuring Derivco into a studio-led model.

Bengtsson pointed to the key role Peters played in developing a cloud-native Remote Gaming System at Derivco, “This positions him well to excel at an executive level and to bring about the change needed to propel Sun International into the digital future.”

Peters said, “I am extremely honoured to have been appointed to work with such a great brand like Sun International, and to apply my experience in shaping the future of digital platforms by applying leading innovation and cutting edge digital transformations”
