The skies above Gauteng are set to roar as the Wonderboom Airshow makes its highly anticipated return to Wonderboom Airport on Friday, 15 November 2025. Promising a high-octane celebration of South African aviation, the event brings together the country’s top pilots, military precision, and cutting-edge commercial aircraft in one unforgettable aerial showcase.

For first-time visitors, an airshow is more than planes in flight — it’s a festival of innovation, skill, and spectacle. Expect the thunder of jet engines, breathtaking formation flying, and an extraordinary mix of aircraft, from vintage warbirds to modern airliners, performing daring maneuvers that will leave spectators in awe.

Highlights That Will Take Your Breath Away

This year’s event features full participation from the South African Air Force (SAAF), delivering precision fly-pasts and tactical displays that showcase the nation’s aerial prowess. Commercial aviation enthusiasts will also have something to cheer about as Airlink debuts its latest airliner, demonstrating innovation and the evolution of modern air travel.

Aviation fans will be thrilled to witness the Puma Flying Lions taking to the skies with their iconic Harvard formation displays, while the Goodyear Eagles promise heart-stopping aerobatics designed to keep eyes glued to the heavens.

On the Ground: A Festival for Everyone

The excitement isn’t just in the sky. On the ground, the Wonderboom Airshow transforms into a family-friendly festival with beer tents, gourmet food vendors, and a dedicated kids’ play zone. It’s a full-day experience for aviation enthusiasts, families, and thrill-seekers alike.

“The Wonderboom Airshow is more than just an airshow — it’s a celebration of aviation, community and innovation,” said Nonkululeko Sishi, Acting CEO of Colossal Aviapartner. “Families can enjoy a full day of entertainment while getting up close to some of the country’s finest aircraft and pilots.”

Ryan Van Wijk, CEO of Alt Academy, added: “We’re thrilled to be part of the Wonderboom Airshow. It’s an incredible opportunity to inspire the next generation of aviators and showcase the diversity of South African aviation talent.”

Tickets are available via TicketPro and at participating SPAR stores. Organisers recommend securing tickets in advance, as this event consistently attracts aviation fans from across Gauteng and beyond.
