What makes you glow?

It sounds like a simple question, but the answer is deeply personal.

For one woman, it might be stepping onto a stage. For another, it could be starting a new job, pursuing a long-held dream, overcoming a difficult chapter or simply having the confidence to show up as herself.

That idea took centre stage in Johannesburg on 22 August 2026, when NIVEA Luminous630 Skin Glow hosted an intimate media experience at House of YMZ, officially unveiling award-winning South African artist Zee Nxumalo as the new face of the NIVEA Luminous630 Skin Glow range.

The evening brought together media, creators and industry guests for a celebration of confidence, culture and self-expression.

But the biggest reveal was saved for the stage.

A glow-up with a surprise

The partnership announcement came with a moment designed to be remembered.

During Zee Nxumalo’s live performance, a surprise UV reveal transformed the room, officially unveiling the NIVEA x Zee partnership in a striking finale.

It was a fitting reveal for a campaign built around something that can be seen — but is ultimately rooted in something much deeper.

Confidence.

At the heart of the evening was one question:

“What Makes You Glow?”

For Zee, the answer is not simply about being in the spotlight.

“People often celebrate the big moments, but confidence is built long before anyone sees you,” she says. “It’s in the work you put in, the challenges you overcome and the decision to keep believing in yourself.”

That journey, she says, is what makes her glow.

And it is also why the partnership feels meaningful to her.

More than skin deep

The collaboration between NIVEA and Zee Nxumalo is built around a broader interpretation of confidence.

As one of South Africa’s exciting young artists, Zee has developed a career associated with authenticity, resilience and a strong sense of self.

Those qualities align with NIVEA’s belief that confidence begins with feeling comfortable in your own skin.

The partnership aims to celebrate the everyday experiences that contribute to that confidence.

Not just the major milestones.

Not just the photographs.

Not just the moments when everyone is watching.

It is also about the preparation, the setbacks, the growth and the decision to keep moving forward.

“What Makes You Glow?” becomes the bigger conversation

For Devashni Ganess, NIVEA Senior Brand Manager, skincare is about more than appearance.

“At NIVEA, we believe skincare is about more than appearance. It’s about helping people feel confident in their own skin,” she says.

Ganess describes Zee as representing a generation of women who are embracing their individuality and confidently owning their journeys.

Through the partnership, NIVEA hopes to encourage more South Africans to celebrate the things that make them glow.

That could be a personal achievement.

A passion.

A relationship.

A dream.

Or simply the confidence that comes from taking care of yourself.

Your skin is part of the outfit

For Sne Njapha, NIVEA PR Manager, the idea of glow is both personal and visible.

“We often think about the outfit, the hair and everything else that helps us feel ready to step out, but our skin is part of that confidence too,” she says.

Her message is simple:

Glowing skin is the ultimate outfit.

And the partnership with Zee brings that philosophy to life by connecting visible skin confidence with the personal journey behind it.

Because the glow people see is only one part of the story.

There is also the growth.

The resilience.

The confidence.

The work that nobody sees.

Meet the NIVEA Luminous630 Skin Glow range

At the centre of the new partnership is the NIVEA Luminous630 Skin Glow range, created to support women’s everyday facial skincare routines.

The range is powered by Thiamidol®, which NIVEA describes as its patented ingredient and states is 60 times more effective than Vitamin C.

According to the brand, NIVEA Luminous630 Skin Glow delivers instant and lasting 3D glow, while helping to visibly reduce dark marks, refine pores and hydrate the skin.

The range is positioned for women looking for skincare that can keep pace with modern, fast-moving lifestyles.

The message is not about changing who you are.

It is about caring for the skin you are in while embracing the confidence that comes with it.

A partnership about the journey

The Johannesburg event offered guests an exclusive first look at the collaboration between NIVEA and Zee.

But beyond the UV reveal and live performance, the evening introduced a bigger idea.

Confidence does not suddenly appear when you reach the spotlight.

It is built along the way.

It grows through the moments that challenge you and the decisions that push you forward.

That makes Zee Nxumalo a natural fit for the partnership.

Her story reflects the kind of confidence NIVEA wants the campaign to celebrate: one rooted in individuality, growth and self-belief.

Together, NIVEA and Zee will continue highlighting the everyday moments and personal journeys that shape confidence, encouraging women to embrace the glow that is uniquely theirs.

So, what makes you glow?

That is the question NIVEA is putting to South Africa.

Not what makes you look good.

Not what gets the most attention.

But what makes you feel like yourself?

Perhaps it is chasing your dream.

Perhaps it is surviving something you thought you couldn’t.

Perhaps it is walking into a room knowing exactly who you are.

Or perhaps it is simply taking a moment to care for yourself.

Whatever the answer, NIVEA’s latest campaign is making one thing clear:

Your glow is personal. Your confidence is yours. And your journey deserves to shine.

Because, as the brand’s campaign philosophy puts it:

Glowing skin is the ultimate outfit, and confidence is what makes it luminous.
