Johannesburg, 20 August 2025 – Rugby fever is set to light up the city as Melrose Arch transforms its iconic Piazza into a buzzing Springbok Fan Park on Saturday, 23 August 2025, just in time for the epic Rugby Championship clash between South Africa and Australia.

Whether you’re a die-hard Bok supporter or simply love a great sporting vibe, this is where Joburg will gather to unite, cheer, and celebrate green and gold pride in true South African style.

📺 Watch the Action Live on the Big Screen

Kick-off is at 17:10, and fans will be able to watch every scrum, tackle and try live on a massive outdoor screen in the heart of the Piazza. Bring your gees, wear your Bok jerseys, and settle in for a full match-day experience in one of Joburg’s most vibrant urban spaces.

Entrance to the open-air seating is completely free, and access opens at 16:00. Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so rally your crew early to grab the best spot.

🍽️ Dine, Watch & Celebrate

Prefer a table and some food while watching the game? No problem! Surrounding restaurants like The Grillhouse, Mezepoli, Primi, and Tashas will offer outdoor seating with perfect views of the big screen. Make sure to book your table in advance to avoid disappointment – these terraces are expected to fill up fast!

🏆 Why This Match Matters

This isn’t just any Test. It’s the second game of the 2025 Rugby Championship, with the reigning world and Rugby Championship champions – the Springboks – taking on a revitalised Australian side stacked with firepower, including Nic White, Rob Valetini, Will Skelton and Taniela Tupou.

The Rugby Championship is one of the southern hemisphere’s premier rugby tournaments, featuring South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Argentina. It’s a clash of titans – and every game counts.
