The World According to Comedians

Returning back from a side-splitting road trip to discover what exactly makes Finland the “happiest nation on Earth,” a trio of the world’s funniest stand-up comedians, Tumi Morake, Liza Treyger, and Aditi Mittal, band together for a one-night appearance at the legendary Caroline’s on Broadway in New York City taking place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 to share their hilarious theories from a South African, American, and Indian woman’s perspective.

The three-woman stand-up comedy special called “The World According to Comedians” is part of the 18th Annual New York City Comedy Festival and will be filmed on the iconic Caroline’s stage as the last episode of a side-splitting 6-episode “fish-out-of-water” reality show series,  that will air globally in 2023.

The gravitas of the seemingly unending global pandemic initially inspired the docu-series commissioned by the Finnish National Broadcasting Company, YLE. With the pandemic having impacted everyone around the world, there was a collective need for some comic relief. However, the reality show took on even more significant meaning when it not only documented the comedians’ witty observations about Finland through their own personal cultural lenses, but also chronicled how they bonded with each other over shared experiences.

Having been named the happiest country by the UN World Happiness Report for five consecutive years, many people around the globe are eager to learn Finland’s secret to happiness. Finns often credit their happiness to their connection with nature and the outdoors, but maybe it’s something else. Is it the coffee, gazing at the Northern Lights, ice-cold shots of vodka after a steamy sauna? The hilarious truth is exposed live on Caroline’s stage.

The three funny women have distinct voices and vantage points in their rapid rise to stand-up stardom: Tumi Morake is an accomplished South African activist, author, and mother. Liza Treyger is a gutsy Jewish-American millennial who emigrated from Ukraine with a snarky analysis of her troubled past. Aditi Mittal is a ground-breaking Indian performer and actress navigating the ever-complicated dating scene of her native country.

Although culturally worlds away from each other, all three comedians similarly display a refreshing humility, honesty, and humorous take on everyday life in their respective countries within their stand-up routines — no topic is off limits for these fearless women.

Come along for a gut-busting, raucous night of live comedy entertainment and find out precisely what makes Finland so happy from three comedians hailing from different parts of the globe. During the comedy show on Tuesday, November 8, the audience will get an exclusive sneak peek of the last episode of “The World According to Comedians” docu-series. . The trio of funny women will finally reveal what they found on their uproarious journey and so much more.

Tickets on sale now: $30. Tuesday, November 8th at 7pm.
Book online at nycomedyfestival.com/ or carolines.com, Caroline’s on Broadway 1626 Broadway, NYC 10019, and follow the stand-up trio’s “World According to Comedians” reality show series on Instagram.
